The best time to go to Heelsum is during the spring (April to June) and late summer/early autumn (September to October) when the weather is most pleasant for outdoor activities.

During spring, the landscape around Heelsum, particularly the Hoge Veluwe National Park, comes alive with blooming heather and lush greenery.
