The home is in a wooded setting adjacent to River Riders and convenient to all the Harpers Ferry attractions and the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races. It has a huge yard, fire ring, basement rec room and hot tub perfect for a relaxing getaway for your group. Features 4 master bedrooms, 2 kitchens, and a 70" big screen tv. The home has a hillside view off to the west of beautiful sunsets every evening. Additionally when PAYING FOR EXTRA GUESTS, we have an annex with 3 extra bedrooms, a kitchenette, and 2 full baths. Must pay for at least 17 guests to have access to all rooms. Slope side home in the winter months to Snow Riders which allows for excellent access to the tubing runs. The description of the house was a little misleading because most people think of “master bedrooms” as bedrooms with connecting bathrooms.. however, the house worked for us because each floor had a bathroom so each couple stayed on each floor. The basement was very chilly… but had a fireplace to warm it up if needed. The house was very clean and we had a great time.. it would be a great place for a girl’s weekend, another friend’s getaway, a history buffs retreat, etc. We could have stayed several more days and still had plenty to do.. overall we had a wonderful time. ##### regina s. There is a tenant on the property which was not included in the listing. There are 3 narrow brick steps leading to the front door but NO handrail, and no handrail to step down to the patio.No grab bars in the shower/tubs. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, 2 with king beds, 2 with 2 sets of bunkbeds, so there is bedding for 8 but only 1 shared bathroom.It worked fine for us, we were 3 couples, so one took the upstairs, one the main floor and one the finished basement. everything is large but dated. The kitchen definitely needs refurbishing. The downstairs shower had no hot water. The owner was very prompt to get someone to attend to it, but it took another day. The location was great. The drive into DC averaged about an hour and 45 minutes in the mornings due to traffic, but all the other Civil War destinations were much less and the house is large and very well maintained. The family loved sitting in the hot tub each night after a long day of walking and had the extra pleasure of a herd of deer that greeted us each night next along side the driveway to the house each night on our return for that day's excursions.
