This large 5 bedroom home is the perfect retreat. Located right on the beach, the back door opens to a large deck with a grill and lounge chairs to relax and watch the dolphins in ocean (there are a lot!) There is a 500 square foot Carolina porch if you would prefer to stay indoors and still have a gorgeous panorama ocean views. The home has 5 large bedrooms, and has sleeping accommodations for 19 guest. Fully stocked kitchen! Welcome to "Harbor Point Beach Estate" This beautifully remodeled, beach and oceanfront 5 bedroom/3 full bath home is just steps away from your ultimate rest and relaxation destination. Let your worries go as you gaze over the unobstructed beauty of dolphins swimming where the St. Helena Sound meets the mighty Atlantic Ocean. Just a few steps off the newly constructed back deck, follow the footpath through the dunes to feel your feet in the cool Carolina sand on your way to dipping toes into the warm, welcoming waters. Harbor Point Beach Estate welcomes you home as you step into an open concept kitchen, living, and dining space, large enough for your entire group. The space has large picture windows framing beautiful ocean and beach views, with access to the Carolina porch. This four season climate controlled, 500 sq. ft. room also features 3 walls of picture windows facing the ocean, along with a twin trundle daybed, wicker furniture and an additional dining table for extra seating and eating. From the porch, you can access the newly constructed 16' x 20' deck, with ease of access to the beach, a large gas grill, extra seating, and lounge chairs, perfect for working on your tan or taking a well-deserved nap after a long day on the beach. Just past the stairs is an enclosed outdoor shower, perfect for washing away the extra sand as it tries to make its way inside. The kitchen has been recently updated with new granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, while keeping with the comforts of home. Each morning, enjoy the sunrise with a hot mug of coffee directly from the Keurig coffee maker or a fresh smoothie using the Ninja blender. Meals are an easy set up with a breakfast bar able to seat five and an adjoining dining space, capable of seating a comfortable 8\. Get cozy in the living room on the large, sleeper sofa or on one of the two spacious arm chairs while watching a show or sports team on the 75" 4k flat screen TV. This TV also has a Blu-ray player, in case you wish to settle down and watch a favorite movie. On the first floor you'll find 3 of the 5 bedrooms, including the master suite just off the dining area. The oceanside master bedroom is an ideal escape as it includes a King bed, walk-in closet, a large flat screen TV and an on-suite bathroom, with double vanity and a tub/bath combo. Double doors off the side of the bed lead directly to the Carolina room. Two additional bedrooms are located just off the living room. The second bedroom is oceanside and holds a queen bed, large flat screen Smart TV, and access to the Carolina room. This bedroom and the third have a shared full bath with a secluded toilet area and shower/tub combination. The third bedroom has a larger, king-sized bed and also has a large flat screen Smart TV. The remaining two bedrooms are located upstairs with a shared, comfortable full bath. This bathroom has a double vanity and a tub/shower combo. On the oceanside of the house you'll find a bedroom with two full/double beds, a loveseat, and a large flat screen Smart TV. As an added bonus, this room has a spacious walk-in closet and access to a balcony overlooking the ocean with additional seating outside. The fifth bedroom is quite large, features two queen beds, a large flat screen Smart TV, and an extra large walk-in closet with a fold away twin bed. Just for staying on Harbor Island, you will have access to the pools, fitness center, tennis courts and basketball court. Due to the inclusivity of Harbor Island, there is a minimal fee for car passes onto the island. Parking is available for up to 5 vehicles. \*Gate pass fees are per vehicle: day pass $20; 2 nights $30; 3 nights $40; 4 nights $50; 5 nights $60; 6 nights $70; 7 nights $80, 8-14 nights $105; 15-21 nights $130; 22-30 nights $155; 31-90 nights $175; 91-365 nights $200. Pet fee is $200 for two small dogs. If your dog is larger or more dogs please just contact us before hand. We just ask that you clean up after your puppy. All check in's are with a remote smart lock. There is a property manager in the area that is always available to help make your stay even better. Quiet private gated community. Harbor Island is truly one of a kind. Small cafe open during the busy season., it also has a pool, tennis and basketball courts, gym and playground. Aligators and dolphins can be spotted all around the island. Just a mile down the road from Hunting Island Sate Park where you can explore the Hunting Island Light House. Lots of fishing available on the island, as well as crabbing the famous blue crab. Great seafood restaurants around, as well as the local fish and shrimp markets to get fresh sea food. You can book locals to take you on deep sea fishing trips, or dolphin tours. Bubba's which is just minutes down the road offers Kayak rentals. Bike rentals are available on the island as well. Down the road on Lady's Island is a local artist community with beautiful shops and food. Grocery stores are about 20 min down the road including a publix and neighborhood walmart. Travel the island in the complimentary 3 row golf cart provided with your stay. Please contact us about any special events. The views were breathtaking with the sunrises and sunsets – 180 view. We went to beach every day - having beach access was great. The inside of home was very clean and bug free. The layout of the home was very family oriented with a large kitchen. The thermostat controlled sunroom was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed the golf cart. Being able to have access to the community pool and playground was a nice feature. The gift shop and food at Turtlle’s Nest was great. With that being said, I want to share things that could have been better about the home. The master bed was very uncomfortable. We woke up everyday with back aches. The front storm door, no door closure. We had to pull it hard to shut it. The handle inside fell off multiple times. The same with back door leading out to the sundeck from the sunroom. We are unable to use top deck leading out of the bedrooms, due to mold on doors and bugs and spiderwebs on deck and ceiling. That was a missed opportunity for ocean views. The outside house could use some much needed power washing. There was mold on the decks and railings and nails popped up, which makes it a hazard. This made it difficult for us to come outside with our children and use the deck or stairs. The garage was not clean. With a list of items given to maintenance for repairs, it seemed that the maintenance people knew some of the issues had already existed. One back door to sunroom could not lock. ##### Karen M. The beach house was exactly as it appeared online. Absolutely beautiful! We all felt very special as we walked into our rooms and had bed-linens, towels, soap and extra amenities in the bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked. However, if you plan to make a Beaufort stew, you will need to bring a large pot and burner. The ocean was very calm and without a lot of waves. This was perfect for the children. We did have some issues with biting flies so we just made sure we used bug spray. It was very nice to walk out the back of the house and be right on the beach. The outside shower and toilet area were a very nice bonus. We had a wonderful view of the beach and the ocean from the sun room and deck. The sunrise was beautiful to watch from the porch every morning. Because the ocean was so calm, we were able to easily get the kayak onto the ocean and then paddle around the island and out further towards the dolphins. Kathy, our property manager, was wonderful. She quickly responded to the questions I had and even checked in on us. We had family members that enjoyed the pool and the workout/weight room. The children loved being able to ride in the golf cart to the pool. One of the most exciting moments of our stay was watching some of the baby sea turtles make their way from the nest close to the house to the ocean. Everyone in the family had such a wonderful time. The size of the house was just right, and everyone enjoyed being directly on the beach. The kitchen was particularly well equipped with all the needed items. Did have problem with golf cart but they property manager got us a new rental. Problems with wasp nest, they did bring over some wasp spray and they help stop the wasp flying around. Kitchen was beautiful and had everything in you could need. Over all a great house, great location. We had a good time overall. Minor issues include the overall upkeep of the house, it is in desperate need of regular maintenance. Things such as broken blinds, bugs in front glass door and infestation of spiders upstairs could be easily corrected. My teenagers woke up to spiders in their bed daily and the upstairs porch was unusable because of the bugs. The kitchen is stocked, but poorly organized and in need of some new items (pots and pans, etc.) and the refrigerator is rather small if you have a big group. There is an additional refrigerator in the garage, but it’s inconvenient to have to go down to get something. My biggest complaint is communication with the property manager and owner. It was good before we arrived, but after arrival we texted inquiring about the code to enter the fitness room. The owner was polite but didn’t know the information and directed me to the property manager who never responded. Then we had a bald tire that went flat and I texted both the property owner and manager and never got a response from either. So luckily, the locals were sweet and helped us with both, but I am irritated that I paid $75 to replace a tire on the golf cart (which by the way is NOT as advertised in the listing, it only seats 4 people). Gorgeous place to stay, especially for our beach wedding! Quiet low key beach, I think we might have seen a total of 30 people total on the beach our entire stay! Which is great for us! This property is perfect for watching dolphins play and feed. During our stay we must have watched them for 3+ hours on numerous days while drinking coffee and eating breakfast. We arrived Saturday, there was 1 loggerhead turtle nest and when we left a week later, there were 9 total on the island with 3 directly in front of the house. We asked the volunteers daily about updates and they were more than willing to talk to us. Beds were really comfortable, ac worked great, loved that the kitchen was fully stocked! There are only minor complaints about the property we had. The blinds on the enclosed porch need repair, especially since they need to be closed during May-October at night for the turtles. Some of them needed to be rolled up instead of being able to use the string to open. There was lots of trash on the side of the home by the trash area when we arrived, not sure if it was from the previous stay or wind. Spiders and hornets were pretty bad in the enclosed porch, over the upstairs rooms & garage, but we bought raid and it seemed to take care of them for the most part. Found a couple of spiders in the house (bathrooms & kitchen cabinets) but it is SC. Overall the house was wonderful, plenty of room and clean. Just a few minor teaks and it would be perfect! Our family of 5 adults and 2 young children spent a wonderful week at Harbor Point Beach Estate on Harbor Island. Though this was our 2nd visit to Harbor Island, it was the first time in this beautiful and spacious home, literally footsteps from the beach. We felt welcomed from the moment we made the reservation to when we checked out. The keyless entry worked well and the house very clean on arrival. it was very helpful to have a starting supply of soaps and paper products (if you stay more than a few days, you will need to bring or buy extras). The beds, pillows, and linens were very comfortable and the water pressure/temperatures in all three bathrooms was great. (These things are important to us when we stay in vacation homes for an extended visit.) This home offered plenty of space for private/quiet time, and more importantly, for time we spent together eating, doing crafts, or watching a movie. The huge enclosed porch came in handy on the rainy days—the children could play, and the adults could watch the changing tides. We loved watching the shore birds and even saw a couple pods of dolphins. We enjoyed our visits to Hunting State Park and to some of the local eateries and historic spots on the Island. We could see dolphins jumping in the ocean, not just from the back porch, but even from the living room and dining room. The kitchen really was well stocked, it had everything we could want. We had 10 adults and 8 children under the age of 8\. The location is amazing, just a few steps from the beach. The closed in porch was a big plus. The only issue we had were the appliances. The stove turns on every time you accidentally brushed up against the knobs. The dish washer had to be ran several times to clean a load of dishes. I would also recommend a larger fridge or add an extra. We spent hundreds of dollars on ice. Not a big enough fridge for 18 people. But it truly is a lovely home. Thanks for allowing us to visit.
