"Beautiful place to stay with family or friends.
We rented two cabins and absolutely loved it. They picked us up from the airport and also took us back for our return flight to Santiago, which made everything so easy and convenient.
The cabins were very comfortable and fully equipped with everything you need. On our first day, we had breakfast in the hotel lobby, but after that, we decided to cook in the cabins since we had everything available.
One of the best things is that they have a small on-site market with all the essentials you might need, including fresh bread every day. Sometimes we would walk to the town center, which took about 15 minutes, and the service everywhere was excellent.
Highly recommended. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Easter Island.
Also, they offer tours, which is amazing. Everything departs directly from the hotel, it’s very well organized, and super flexible. I loved taking the tours with them, I loved staying here, and I truly enjoyed everything they offer.
Highly recommended"
"The house lobby and breakfast room are beautiful. The room was nice and spacious with a nice balcony and view of the water. They do offer scrambled eggs along with the cold meats and cheeses, fruits and yogurt.
Airport pickup was a plus."
"I love this hotel , it’s family owned and the owners are very nice people . The continental breakfast was great with variety of food to choose from . The rooms were clean, the AC and fridge worked well and there was plenty of hot water for shower . Each room had its own table in front with 2 chairs to enjoy the evenings on the island . The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided. The hotel provides shuttle service from the airport when requested. We were greeted with leis made from local flowers . It was such a nice welcoming gesture . During the stay , the owners often gave us fresh fruits : mango , watermelon, maracuja and soft drinks free of charge . It is an excellent hotel . "
"Our stay at Hotel Tauraa on Easter Island was truly exceptional and unforgettable.
From the very first moment, the owner/manager Wolfgang made us feel incredibly welcome. He personally greeted us, which already set the tone for the entire stay. His hospitality went far beyond expectations—he even helped us resolve and rebook our tickets, which could have easily become stressful without his support.
What really stood out was the level of personal care. Every morning, Wolfgang would bring us fresh apples—such a simple gesture, yet it made us feel genuinely cared for. It’s these small, thoughtful touches that make this place so special.
The breakfasts were absolutely amazing. Not just standard hotel food—each morning was a unique, custom-prepared experience. Everything was fresh, delicious, and clearly made with attention and pride.
This is not just a place to stay—it’s a place where you feel like a valued guest, not just a booking. If you’re visiting Rapa Nui, Hotel Tauraa is a hidden gem, and Wolfgang is the kind of host that turns a good trip into a truly memorable one.
Highly, highly recommended."
"Tupa Hotel is primitive compared to a budget hotel in the US. No AC in any of the rooms & humidity is about 75-80% every day with temperatures only fluctuating a couple degrees per day & night. March 2026 78 during day, 75-76 at night. Only the receptionist speaks English. Breakfast is deli meats, cheeses, bread, coffee, tea, yogurt, fruit. The staff is incredibly friendly & do their best to accommodate your stay. Chickens, horses, dogs roam loose. Groups of guests can be extremely rude, self-righteous, and pretentious. This is a good choice to sleep & shower but luxury it is not. If you’re here to experience the island, stay at Tupa. If you’re here for a world class experience, pay a lot more to stay somewhere else."
