Beautiful, 4 level, 8 bedroom 6 1/2 bath oceanfront home in a gated community with a private heated pool. This 4700sqft home has very large bedrooms, private bathrooms, and generous closets (can fit pack n plays!). Elevator, grill, and much more! Family friendly, PET friendly, and we offer luxury services for food delivery, baby, beach necessities! Magnificent sugar sand beaches and ocean views every floor. Unique Benefits of this home: Since the property is in a Gated subdivision (we will give you the gate code!), we all share in the amenities of the subdivision on the property including a large community pool and gym. Our home comes with a private heated pool (not a hot tub!) and three decks to soak up the sun. We also recently add an arcade room with foosball tables, two professional arcade machines, and a kids air hocky table. We are excited to continue to update and improve our home so that our customers will want to come back to a better product every year. If you are looking for a quiet, secluded place to enjoy the ocean and mother nature, this is it. There is a marina and Tacky Jacks restaurant, right across the street, and 3 other restaurants and stores close by. We normally walk to Tacky Jacks from our home when we are there. Plan about a 5 min walk time. If you want major outlet shopping or more night activity, Downtown Gulf Shores is 18 miles East. Although Downtown is 18 miles away, we want to be very clear and transparent that you will need to budget about 30 min driving there and back based on traffic and distance. If you want to plan a trip to Foley which is further North, plan for a total of 45 min. Our home is in a great remote spot away from crowds so expect longer drive time. However though, there are many restaurants now closer than downtown and several markets for basic food and pantry items. We are only 1 mile from Ft. Morgan and the Ferry to Dauphin Island. This property welcomes small dogs only (limit: two dogs). Please note the following important guidelines: Due to association by-laws, the following breeds are not permitted: Doberman, Rottweiler, Chow and Pit Bull. Dogs only are allowed—no other pets permitted. Dogs must be at least 9 months old. Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside the home. Owners must clean up after their pets. No excessive barking is allowed. A pet fee of $120 per dog will be added to your receipt. Jul 17, 2018 #### Perfect week at the beach! We (family of 19) had a wonderful experience at Pelican’s Rest. The house conditions and accommodations were as pictured and worked very well for our family. The kitchen was well-equipped, allowing us to prepare several meals with ease. It would have been an inconvenience to have to carry all of our chairs and beach supplies to the beach every day (you have to walk around the dunes versus directly out in front of the house), but the option to rent beach chairs and umbrellas for the week was worthwhile and made it easy. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was beautiful and was going to fit EVERY one of our needs, however, we rented it with an elevator because we had 2 parents in their mid 80s, 2 in their 70s, and someone on medical disability. While we understand things happen, we found out the elevator was broken 2 weeks before we arrived. We had no time to possibly make other plans. A monetary compensation should have AT LEAST been offered?? Also, the guest book said a Swiffer and supplies for it would be provided along with some Clorox wipes. None of which was provided? Again, a beautiful house that was everything we could ever dream of, initially. But the elevator was a BIG deal! ##### Jason H. We enjoyed its remote location. You have the beach largely to yourself. The pool on property was awesome. It is not big, but a great place to take a dip and cool off. The community pools were very crowded and not great, so I would not count on using those. You need to bring everything! The rental has the basics, but there are no extras as in some rentals. The grocery stores are NOT close. Also, the pictures on line do not show all of the oil rigs in your view. I was not expecting to see so many. Overall it was a good rental. ##### Susanna J. Everyone was comfortable and had room to breath. We loved all the balconies. The elevator was a plus. Sunset properties were very quick to fix any problems we had. We stayed on the beach most of the time but a few went to the outlet stores and found some really good buys. Another group went to the fort and explored. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here and found out we were the first people to stay after they did a big remodel. You could tell that they didn't have anyone do a walk through before renting it out/people arrive. As someone who has rentals and an AirBnB, that is alarming to me. There were lots of things laying around that had not been screwed into the wall (fixtures, towel bars, etc.). The dishwasher was not screwed in and fell out. There was no trash can or broom. There are big windows with no curtains on any of them. This made for some miserable mornings with the sun beaming in. There also was lots of construction happening around it- which is fine except it would have been great to have a heads up. Also, at the complex, the hot tub was broken the whole time. Overall, there was so much dust and it had not been thoroughly cleaned and wasn't truly ready for people to arrive. I know once those things are taken care of, it will be great. ##### Kristen K. Reviewer Comments: Overall the house was very nice, beautifully decorated, and accommodated our family perfectly. The beach area is fantastic. Beds are comfortable, large dining table for big family meals and games at night was great too. Direct TV was nice. There were just a few small issues that we overcame. I did email immediately the next day regarding a broken ceiling fan in the master bedroom (which is badly needed due to the heat) and no curtains in the front bedrooms- just rods. We did not get a reply back. But we bought a fan and made due without curtains. The kitchen items were not very clean, especially the waffle maker, skillet, and blender. Can opener was broken so we bought a new one for the next guests. The floors were filthy upon arrival. We cleaned them. Also...housekeeping was still there at 4:20pm when we arrived. We had to wait with groceries in the car til 4:30\. When we were able to pull up to the house and park, we were met with a dirty (poopy) diaper at the bottom of the front steps. There were rusty nails and broken glass all over the carport area, we cleaned it up. My husband bought a hammer and fixed the nails coming out of the boards on the boardwalk at bottom of the steps from the deck. We had one person cut their foot. The grill...awful! broken, nasty, and rusty!. Hugh disappointed since it is mentioned a grill is available and we planned our meals accordingly. Lastly, the property in this area of homes is trashy! There was trash everywhere. Very unkept. This is very sad since the homes here are beautiful. These are items that need to be addressed prior to future guests. After reading about 400K in renovations, we were let down a little bit. We are a pretty laid-back family and did overall really enjoy our stay. The home accomplished what we had hoped for which was a great family beach vacation.
