Hot tub, Dog Friendly Bay Tree Cottage - nestled among the towering redwood and bay trees of Guerneville, this classic river-style home offers a nostalgic retreat with original wood interiors and log-style siding. The rustic charm and simple layout create a cozy, welcoming space perfect for spending time with family or friends. Unplug and enjoy the serene surroundings. As a nod to the original 1920s construction, Bay Tree Cottage’s décor includes historical photos, cathedral radio, collection of F. Scott Fitzgerald books, antique furniture and light fixtures. Family and dog-friendly, Bay Tree Cottage is ideal for a getaway with loved ones—including your furry companions! The deck and yard provide outdoor seating for dining, relaxing in the hot tub, or unwinding under the trees. Walk to two neighborhood beaches. Conveniently located near downtown Guerneville, you’re just minutes from wineries, hiking, kayaking, and local shops, making this home a perfect base for your Russian River adventures. Know Before You Book: Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Bay Tree Cottage is 4 people not including kids under 3 years old. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times. A Note About Our Cleaning Fees: Thank you for supporting our local business! When you stay with us, you support local families at work. We think everyone deserves a decent living wage, and we make sure to set the rates and fees so that our cleaners earn a living wage in beautiful Sonoma County. Parking: There is parking for a maximum of 2 vehicles. RVs, trailers, and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance. Bed Sizes: First bedroom: Queen bed; Second bedroom: 2 Twin beds (they cannot be pushed together); Heating: There is a gas wall furnace in the living room and each bedroom has a wall-mounted eco-heater. The fireplace in the living room is available for guests. While there may be firewood at the property, it is not promised. We recommend bringing your own or checking at the property before purchasing wood. Cooling: There is not A/C at Bay Tree Cottage, but you’re unlikely to need it with the surrounding trees. Freestanding fans are provided for extra warm days. Kitchen: The kitchen does not include a dishwasher or garbage disposal. There is a small microwave, and the range/oven are propane. Bathroom: The bathroom has doors to both the dining area and the Queen bedroom. There is a shower in the bathroom. Location: Bay Tree Cottage is in a cozy residential neighborhood. It is a mix of permanent residents and vacation rentals, families, working folks, and visitors. To honor this balance, we ask guests to park directly in front of the fence and gate and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Thank you for helping to continue the tradition of a mutually beneficial relationship between vacation rentals and local community! Stairs: While the living areas in the house are all one level, there are several steps to the front door and from the back deck to the ground and hot tub. There is a small partial step to the dining area and back deck. Pet Friendly: This home welcomes up to 2 well-mannered dogs. If you have more than 2 dogs or other types of pets, please contact us to see if exceptions can be made before reserving. Fencing: The yard is fully fenced, but we always recommend checking the fence line before letting your dog off-leash. A Note About TVs: The Smart TVs have Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu, and hundreds of streaming channels. Guests are welcome to bring their login info for these apps. Additional Notes: While the back deck includes a handmade outdoor fireplace, the local vacation rental ordinance prohibits its use. Baby/Kid-Specific Items: A pack-n-play and highchair are provided. River Access: Walk to the Russian River and a couple of neighborhood beaches. Access is a seasonal amenity and only available when conditions allow. Conditions vary from year to year and can change rapidly – use your best judgement to determine your risk level and comfort in the water/physical activity. Near Johnson’s Beach, other Russian River access points, and Armstrong Redwoods. House was clean, stocked with most essentials, and has old style charm with a cabin feel. Backyard is beautiful and hot tub was clean and so relaxing! Beds are decent but pillows are terrible. Because it’s old, the floors are super squeaky, the walls are thin, and the bedroom doors are impossible to close. The “wall” that divides the two bedrooms is more like a partition because it has a gap near the shared closet so you can’t have lights on without it shining into the other room. The couch is odd with the feet in the middle, so it tips forward constantly. There was no hand soap anywhere, no Kleenex, and there’s no sponge yet they require you to wash dishes at check out (no dishwasher). It would also be nice to have either foil, plastic wrap, or sandwich bags. ##### B T. We loved the backyard and the fact that the back doors open to fresh air the whole time. We also loved the historical charm of this cabin. It's a great place to stay for all seasons of the year, with beautiful old fireplaces. Walls are pretty thin, but if you're with a close friend or family, it's nothing you wouldn't already be used to. ##### Victoria R.
