![El Indio Guarani, a statue of an local chief, immortalized and at the topmost park in Guaranda.  It's a fun hike up from the city center and can be accomplished in a couple of hours.  Lots of houses to see along the way and the view gets better and better as you go higher and higher. "Our stay at Turismo Comunitario Las Esperanza was unforgettable thanks to the incredible location, the incredibly kind hosts, and the unique opportunity to share some time with members of an indigenous community. We stayed in the traditional choza which was large, clean and comfortable. The food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious and well prepared. We regretted not having more time to explore the area both hiking and on horseback. We will be sure to return for those activities. When we arrived in this remote location, we had a flat tire (!!!) and the community members went above and beyond to help us resolve the problem. "
