1. TAMA Hôtel

TAMA Hôtel
3.0 star property
Saint-Paul
8.4 out of 10, Very good, (85 reviews)
"Parking bien trop petit Personnel d’accueil bien peu aimable. Ascenseur zéro Clef de porte manuelle, la carte ne fonctionne pas. Wifi inexistant. Sol sale à l’arrivée. La déco n’en parlons pas, les serviettes de plage d’un autre siècle mais vous remplirez tout de même une petite feuille pour en disposer …. Bien dommage car un minimum d’investissement en ferait un bel hôtel doté d’une superbe piscine et dans un environnement très calme. C’était la première, ce sera la dernière. "

"While the staff is very pleasant and the property clean, there is almost no internet speed, the area around the hotel is made up of apartment and thus noisy late at night with kids shouting. There is only 1 small restaurant at walking distance. You need car to get to beach and the pics from hotel misleading. i would recommend hotel for 1 to 2 day max, not 15 like we book and we left 2 days in our stay but hotel refused the refund (as per policy)"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Grand Fond?
The best area to stay in Grand Fond is along the coastline, particularly around the beach areas of Plage de l'Hermitage and Plage des Salines.

This coastal stretch is the main draw for visitors to Grand Fond, known for its beautiful lagoons and coral reefs. It's a relaxed area with a focus on beach activities. You'll find a good selection of hotels and restaurants dotted along the main coastal road, Route Nationale 1A, offering easy access to the sand and sea.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will find Plage de l'Hermitage particularly appealing. The calm, clear waters of the lagoon are great for swimming and snorkelling, and many establishments offer stunning sunset views over the Indian Ocean. It's an excellent spot for unwinding and enjoying the natural beauty of Reunion.

Families will also appreciate the amenities and calm waters of Plage des Salines. The shallow, protected lagoon provides a secure environment for children to play, and there are often activities like paddleboarding and kayaking readily available.
When is the best time to go to Grand Fond?
The best time to visit Grand Fond is during the dry season, which runs from May to November, offering pleasant weather for exploring.

This period avoids the heavier rainfall and higher humidity of the wet season. You'll find sunshine is more consistent, and temperatures are comfortably warm without being overly hot, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and beach visits.

For couples looking for an active holiday, this dry season is perfect. You can enjoy the numerous hiking trails that wind through the island's interior or relax on the beaches. The clearer skies also offer better visibility for scenic drives along the coast.

Families travelling with children will also appreciate the dry season. The stable weather allows for consistent planning of excursions, whether it's a day at the beach or exploring the volcanic landscapes.
