The best area to stay in Glentaisie is the coastal town of Ballycastle, offering a convenient base for exploring the Antrim Coast and Glens.

Ballycastle is a pleasant seaside town with a bustling harbour and a long sandy beach. The main street, Ann Street, and the surrounding roads offer a good selection of shops, local eateries, and pubs. It's well-known for its annual Ould Lammas Fair, one of Ireland's oldest fairs, held every August. From the harbour, you can catch a ferry to Rathlin Island.

For couples looking for a relaxed yet engaging break, Ballycastle is an excellent choice. You can enjoy strolls along the beach, explore the local craft shops, and dine at various restaurants offering fresh seafood. The scenic coastal drives, such as the Causeway Coastal Route, are easily accessible from here, superb for day trips to iconic sites like the Giant's Causeway.

Families will also find Ballycastle very suitable. The beach provides plenty of space for children to play, and there are several family-friendly activities nearby, including local parks and opportunities for boat trips.

The best time to visit Glentaisie is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and October.

During these months, you'll experience pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and often better value on accommodation and activities compared to the peak summer months. The days are long enough for sightseeing, and the natural beauty of the Glens and coastline is particularly striking.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will appreciate the tranquil atmosphere and the opportunity to enjoy scenic walks and drives without the bustle of high season. The mild temperatures are ideal for exploring the Antrim Coast Road or hiking in Glenariff Forest Park.

For those interested in outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, these months offer comfortable conditions. The trails are less crowded, and the landscapes are lush and inviting. You'll find that many local businesses are still fully operational, offering a full range of services.

While July and August offer the warmest weather, they also bring the largest crowds and highest prices.
