"We were able to upgrade to a breakfast and AC which made it nice. The doors to the bathroom didn’t close. Periodically there was a smell like sewage in the hallways, but it was only a smell. The beds were clean. The floors were clean. The bathroom does not get hot water. But most places there don’t. We did not try the pool, but just know the public can come there to swim during the day. "This hotel is horribly run. I reserved 2 nights on Expedia only to get there and the hotel staff to tell me they had no record of my booking. The room had not been cleaned or readied for guests because they were not expecting a guest. "DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!! The owner/manager is a horrible/rude person. I do not know where the miscommunication happened, Expedia or misrepresented by the owner/manager, but the owner/manager was extremely rude while trying to figure out what happened to our reservation. His words...don't bother coming at all...so we did not. Unfortunate because we were really looking forward to our stay. We travel to Ghana frequently and this was the first time ever we had trouble with any stays. BEWARE. "

"My stay at the pelican hotel was nothing short of amazing. The staff was extremely hospitable and supportive throughout the entirety of my wife and I’s stay. We were visiting Ghana for a wedding and due to some wedding programming had to switch rooms on two occasions; the staff was extremely helpful in getting us relocated to our new rooms and ensuring that the room was up to par on a daily basis. Even the small details such as getting a small pouch of sweet and savoury plantain chips really made us happy to come back to the hotel each day. Also the food at the hotel restaurant was very good. We really enjoyed the whole grilled fish with yam chips. The entire team was great, but some of the folks that stood out for us were Michael and Vincent at the front desk and Shadrack, the security manager, who really took care of us and even helped arrange some sightseeing. Highly recommend!"
