The Space: As you step into the home, the open living area will greet you with a wall of windows overlooking the water. With plenty of seating, you can easily watch a movie together, grab your favorite book or select your board game of choice for all to enjoy! You'll appreciate the fresh, bright and fully equipped kitchen complete with peninsula island, stainless steel full-sized refrigerator, oven/range, and dishwasher for easy cleanup, and plenty table settings and serving utensils to keep everyone fed and happy. With large dining table, there's ample room for all to find a spot and enjoy the tasty meal. Head out on the deck to fire up the BBQ and truly experience grilling with a view! Post dinner, break out your desired local brew or glass of wine, and take in the beautiful sights and sounds of the surf, and of course, get ready for that photoshoot of the spectacular sunset! On your drive, stop by the grocery store for your favorite grillables and beverages, make a pit stop at the bait shop to fill your bait bucket (great fishing in TI), and/or place a call to make arrangements to rent a golf cart - this is a very golf cart friendly spot. Enjoy the Gulfside's uncrowded pedestrian beach (no cars allowed for 300 yards but golf carts welcomed) where you can setup your group's camp for the day on the beach to build sandcastles, jump in the surf, find unique shells and sand dollars, boogie board, shore & surf fish and build an evening bonfire. Or if preferred, utilize the available launch for your boat or kayak or head to the fishing pier on the bayside. Some much to do so little time! AREA (IMPORTANT): While this home looks right out to the stunning San Luis Pass and beautiful Gulf (perfect for bird watching, sunning, beachcombing, fishing & sunrise/sunset viewing), the state of Texas in late 2017 has put a restriction regarding swimming in the Pass because of unpredictable riptides. Therefore, neighborhood swimming, water sport and surf fishing beach is a 5 min walk down the street to the main long stretch of beach entrance. Getting Around: SAN LUIS PASS: San Luis Pass and Treasure Island have been known all over the United States for being a saltwater fishing hotspot and the most amazing sunrises & sunsets! It is 15 minutes from Surfside and across the bridge from Galveston's west end and only about 25-30 minutes to the heart of Galveston Island's activities. Most people come to the area to spend quality 'non-commercialized" time with family, extended family, and friends! Rocks are large but if you dont want to walk over them there are open beach areas very close. We saw cool wildlife from lots of crabs to even dolphins the last day we stayed! House setup and kitchen items were great! Loft was fun for our kids. The only thing that was a bit bothersome was the blinds on the door. Impossible to use the handle without hitting the blind. Make sure to bring extra trash bags and bug spray!!!! We enjoyed just being together, sitting on the deck each morning! It is rocky getting to the beach but we managed. It felt like our own private beach during the week! It did get busier on the weekend. The fire pit at night time was perfect. This house was exactly what we wanted.
