With 3 bedrooms (1 King, 2 Queens), and 2 modern bathrooms, Chickadee accommodates 6 people. Tons of natural light and the Maine woods (located on a private road), allow you and your friends/family to escape and enjoy easy access to Portland (21 miles); shopping downtown Freeport (2.7 miles); and Bowdoin College (6 miles). Recreational activities abound: local hikes (Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park, Wolfe’s Neck Center for Agriculture and the Environment, Pettengill Farm, Freeport Conservation Trust trails); kayaking (L.L. The house was easy to find and we were visited by a couple of Deer. We enjoyed the fire pit the second night, sitting outside on a beautiful evening. Would recommend a few things: hooks and towel racks in the bathroom on the main floor, bureaus in the bedrooms for clothes, not just closets. Night stand perhaps attached to the wall due to lack of space, in main floor bedroom. Better corkscrew. Long forks for s’mores. Next time I will know what to bring.
