That's what we loved about Angler's Inn, a quaint, small inn directly on the water in Matlacha. We had a nice little kitchen, a great bed, and a screened-in porch. We did spend a lot of time out on the dock waving as the boats drifted by. We walked to a great restaurant and visited some of the stores in the nice town. Quirky and quaint with friendly hosts. We were just passing through for one night, but I wish it could have been more. The bed was comfy, the decorations beachy/artsy, and I really loved the screen porch and the canal. We took a kayak out in the bay and walked to a nearby restaurant. The area has been hit hard by hurricanes, but the community is working hard to keep its identity. I highly recommend to anyone who likes peace and quiet with the interest of fishing Short walking distance to the restaurants and nice dog friendly park where I got to dip my feet in the water. The accommodation is immaculately clean, the bed is incredibly comfortable and the rooms go straight out onto a dock with ample seating. There are also bikes that guests can use. We didn’t as the weather was horrendous with torrential rain, but that didn’t spoil our stay. Jeanette and Michael were so friendly and helpful making recommendations of places to eat, things to see and do. They were also very accommodating with arranging an early check in for us as we had an activity planned on the island before normal check in and wanted to be able to change clothes.
