Secluded 2 Bedroomed Country Cottage with Private Pool north of the Algarve

10/10 Excellent

"We had a great time in this house. Very good privacy with a nice view to the country. The pool is great for adults but not safe for small kids. The owner was always available when needed and very helpful. It's good to know you are not alone when in a remote place like this. One thing I appreciated was the stone finishings in the bathrooms, nice touch. The house and surroundings are beautiful. There were some wasps by the time we were there in September, but they did not bother us too much. The access is a dirt road and is safe to go with a normal car, no big holes there. Great to recharge batteries. Hope to come back soon."

Spacious villa in beautiful surroundings

10/10 Excellent

"Our group of 8 (4 children, 4 adults) had a fantastic time at Atalaia Nascente. The house is clean, very comfortable and well stocked with everything you need for an extended stay. We were able to cook amazing meals, launder our clothes, and avail ourselves of umbrellas for the beach. The house was big enough for our large group to stretch out and enjoy many activities from watching movies in the TV room, to enjoying a glass of wine on the terrace, to playing cards well into the night. The children even crafted on the patio tables! Even the drive up the dusty road has its charms. The highlight however was the gorgeous pool overlooking the rolling hills surrounding the property!Atalaia Nascente is a gorgeous house. JP and Païvi are very attentive hosts. We all cannot wait to return!"

Monte do Alento - Castro da Cola

8/10 Good

"This property is a little oasis hidden away. While a bit tricky to get to as you have to drive on unpaved roads, it's worth it once you get there. The room had everything we needed, and the breakfast was wonderful and included local products. The location is quite rural, however, the closest town (Ourique) was only a 15 minute drive away. It's not a big town by any means, but there were a few restaurant options and a Pingo Doce and an Aldi for groceries. The only thing preventing this from being a 5 star stay was the atmosphere during our stay due to other guests. There happened to be a large family who booked during the same time as us and they completely took over the pool area. As the location is in such a quiet area and there isn't a ton to do, we were looking forward to sitting by the beautiful pool and relaxing in the afternoon. That was tainted by children screaming and jumping into the pool, in addition to them bringing a speaker and playing loud music for hours. They were having a good time and the property is family friendly so perhaps our fault for not inquiring, but if you're looking for a quiet getaway, this may not be the place to book. While it wasn't the stay we were hoping for, the staff and accommodation itself was wonderful."

Quinta Ribeira do Arade

10/10 Excellent

"We were a group of 12 people (3 families) with kids as young as 8. As we had rental cars this property was a fantastic base in the Algarve within max 30mins driving from most attractions. We visited right when there was a heatwave across Europe so having the swimming pool and air conditioned rooms made the stay very comfortable. As advertised there is enough beds for 10 but there were the addition of 2 single roll out beds which was perfect. All rooms including bedrooms are fully renovated to a high standard and the outside has an outdoor shower for after your swim in the pool (1.8m deep) would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone visiting the area for a quiet place to be based that is also close to some vineyards"

3 bedroom Alentejo Style villa with private pool in unspoilt rural countryside.

10/10 Excellent

"Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in dieser tollen Unterkunft. Es fehlt wirklich an nichts, der Pool ist das absolute Highlight und Marten ein sehr zuvorkommender Gastgeber. Wir haben die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit genossen. Es war bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal, dass wir hier waren."

Quinta Solar da Portela

10/10 Excellent

"Because we had problems with the car we were very late checking in. The owner who's birthday it was came to get us checked in and as l have recently had spinal surgery and walking was a difficulty he went out of his way to give us the most convenient room for me and my partner. FIRST CLASS SERVICE. Friendly welcoming staff superb 👌"
