16/9/26 reception at the hotel was very good, the lady was lovely. The room was ok a bit tired but ok, the bed was very nice. And then we went to the restaurant to order food omg I have never been through anything like it4 times I order food for them to tell me we don't have any. Basic mix grill, stakes, chicken,fish.not a good start. Then on the 17/9/26 we went back stake night booked a table for 19.00 to be told there is a 40 minute wait ok we had a drink food eventually arrived at 20.50. Stakes were ok but the rest was poor frozen food. Brackfast was not you stand for upto 15 minutes to be seated and the scrambled eggs were terrible not good for green king.

Lovely staff and the rooms do the job - definitely a bit dated but then you aren’t stopping at the Ritz here - very reasonably priced and the pub food is great - I would stay here again.

The staff were lovely and helpful and I had a spacious bedroom with on suite and it was clean. I had a problem with a couple who was in one of the rooms next to me making banging noises at gone 2am in the morning and I have sensory issues so I shouted to them can they please stop banging as it is gone 2am in the morning and I have sensory issues and I am trying to relax but I can't relax and I also heard someone making sex sounds in one of the other rooms next to me so it was triggering me because of past trauma so I had to put the fan on to drown out the sounds

All good. Easy to find, plenty of car parking space. Reasonable price for accommodation. Decent restaurant. The beer… there’s no such thing as bad beer, only, some beer is better than other beer…! Nothing to grumble about, big plus. Will definitely book again when we’re in that South-coast neck of the woods👍

Excellent location for the town centre and the theatre. The room was comfortable and clean. It has free parking for hotel guests. The food in the bar was good but they had stopped serving food by the time we came back after an early show by 8/ 8.30pm on a Sunday .

Hotel is easy to find and has plenty of parking. Rooms were fine, with enough space and necessary facilities. We needed three rooms, and staff had arranged that they were three adjacent rooms, which was good. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very accommodating - we needed some breakfasts to take away for some of our party who were out running during breakfast service. Evening meal and service in bar were also good, even though it was a busy evening. We would definitely return to the Red Lion when we are in Fareham in future.

The room needs significant refurbishment. Huge stain on the bathroom floor. I think the lino hadn't been refreshed in years. A shower that didn't have enough power to pump any water other than a fast drip, so useless. The breakfast was best skipped , poor quality and not well cooked. Even the toast came out not toasted!

First of all, the room was silent, which is a huge positive. Really quiet and peaceful. The ‘king size’ bed is an insult to customers intelligence. Pushing two single beds together and calling it a king size should be criminalised. Properties like this are charging premium prices for facilities, and then providing some hashed excuse which barely ticks the boxes. The internet access is generous and works well. Parking is confusing. Do you pay or not? The shower head was broken and both the bath and the sink plugs didn’t work properly. There were wine stains on the plastic cups next to the sink, meaning they’re attempting to wash and reuse plastic cups, albeit poorly, tea and coffee is ok, Kenco, so at least it’s not Nescafé original. Mould in the toilet where it is poorly maintained. The bed is the main issue for me. Very poor. I had a rubbish nights sleep, and this is all due to the bed. Awful.
