Sandy Beach, gorgeous sunsets, great front porch view! Come enjoy the fabulous sunsets and relaxing atmosphere in this spacious a-frame on the bay! The house is just minutes from the great shopping and dining of the city of Fairhope, but just off the beaten path enough to feel private and secluded! Located on the eastern shore of Mobile bay, the house faces almost due south, meaning refreshing breezes in the summer, but protection from the wind in the winter, making the outdoor weather fabulous year-round! This house is perfect for vacationing families. The downstairs bedrooms both have King sized beds, while 2 rooms upstairs will sleep lots of kids! The sandy beach is perfect for small children. A snowbird couple would also love this house, as the upstairs need not even be used! The view from the kitchen as you cook is just breathtaking. There is a public boat ramp just one mile away, so bring your boat for skiing, tubing and fishing on the bay, or for a beautiful ride up the nearby magnolia river to swim in the cold spring waters. Don't forget to pack your appetite for seafood. When baited, the two crab traps provided catch as many as a dozen crabs a day! It has a lovely setting and is always such a pleasure to visit. The host is extremely responsive to any questions --answering within minutes. The kitchen is incredibly well-stocked. We are not restaurant people, and I can do just as well in this kitchen as my own. We had multiple fish (from the dock) and crab dinners (crab cakes are our favorite) with crab from the host's traps. This is not a brand new house, but it was clean and very nice. Our only complaint is be mindful of the dock, it feels a little wobbly, but IT IS SAFE. There were a couple soft boards that may require some attention this spring, but nothing to immediately complain about or prevent us from using it. Overall we LOVED our stay here! It was perfect size for us. It was really fun to stay in such a cute little A-frame. It was VERY comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, plenty of bath linens! The location was phenomenal, neighbor my husband talked to was so nice, we saw many pelicans (personal favorite for me) and there was an injured heron that was around regularly that was really neat to be close to and observe! 10/10 would recommend and would stay here again! ##### Katie G. I will start with the negatives; upon arriving to this very cute but rustic cottage, there was an unmistakable odor of mildew or “wet basement” if you will. This smell permeated all of our belongings by the time we departed. The front storm door, did not work well and would not close without a lot of manipulation. The furniture inside of the home was very uncomfortable for longer than a couple days stay. The oven was filthy inside and needs a good cleaning. The dock is in major disrepair and I would say not safe if you are not a fit adult. There are deck boards that are broken as well as nails sticking out in some places. On a positive note, We found the beds to be very comfortable and the kitchen and linens well supplied. All in all an okay stay if you plan on a short one, if only for the location, but this cabin is in a state of disrepair and in need of some TLC. ##### Viking H. We always bring our own household supplies, but this was the first time we had ever stayed somewhere that actually had it all!! It was nice to not have to order tp, napkins etc. As we began to run out the last day we were able to just grab some out the pantry. Plenty of big pots and silverware!! Very clean. My only star deduction was the location, the reviews said close to attractions. 25 minute drive to Walmart, 45 minute drive to attractions. That was just too far for us. On the flip side, we only booked for 4 people since no one else could confirm because of work. Last minute my daughter, cousin and aunt showed up. And that wasn’t an issue. Probably time to rebuild the fishing pier, it was sketchy. My son jumped off and a board snapped in half, he’s 165 lbs. Another board wasn’t even attached at all, definitely wouldn’t pass a code inspection. We did have a blast goofing off and swimming and fishing! ##### kristee A.
