Cold and smelly, but mostly fit for purpose

We checked in quite late at night. The staff at the desk at the time didn't speak much english (better than our Dutch) but we managed. There were a few stains on the floors leading to our room which remained throughout our stay. Our room had a couple of issues. Firstly, it was very cold. The heating was on when we arrived, but most of the radiator was cold to the touch. A request for extra blankets was fulfilled quickly, but it still seemed a bit unacceptable to provide a room without sufficient heating in late autumn/early winter. There was an odour emanating from the bathroom for our entire stay. Whether this was from the air freshener that I quickly unplugged or some other source is unknown, but it was aggressive and extremely off-putting. If the bathroom door was not kept closed, the smell would permeate the entire room. With the door closed, at least the main room became bearable. Had we been at the hotel during the days, or had we been staying longer, we surely would have asked to be moved. However, given what little time we spent in the hotel, it was adequate. The surrounding area is beautiful. There are ample restaurants to fit most price ranges if you're able to check out the other small towns nearby, and it's not a bad drive to larger cities like Maastricht.

All good. The only problem was a noisey door in the corridor. The automatic closing was making the door slam. Making a lot of noise. Other than that a good hotel in a beautiful area

Vriendelijk personeel!

Heel vriendelijk personeel, wij hadden een 2 persoons standaard kamer. Kamer was niet al te groot, smal bed ( standaard 140 breed) ruime badkamer waar, heel vreemd, ook de telefoon hing naast het toilet. Alles was schoon, maar kitranden bij bad zijn hard aan vervanging toe. Verder was er in het hotel niets te doen, geen gezellige bar of mogelijkheid om te eten. Wij zijn beide dagen naar een hotel 100 meter verderop gegaan om te lunchen en dineren.

Klanrtvriendelijk Hotel

Het was een geweldig weekend. We kregen een geweldig ontvangst in het hotel met een kopje koffie, dat smaakt altijd na een paar uurtjes rijden. De kamers kunnen wel een opknapbeurtje gebruiken, en ze waren erg gehorig. Verder was de service en het ontbijt erg goed.

Het is geen duur hotel en dat merk je aan veel dingen: Warm waterkraan lekt flink onder de wastafel, oplossing: niet gebruiken, over 2 maanden wordt deze gerepareerd, tot die tijd kun je warm water van de douche gebruiken... Liftknop naar 2e verdieping is stuk, oplossing: kies maar: met je koffers een smal trapje op (1e verdieping) of af (3e verdieping) sjouwen... Ontbijt was relatief goed!

Bedden waren enorm hard, vering voelde als je op bed lag. Geen schone handdoeken of opgemaakt bed de volgende dag, kortom geen roomservice geweest. Om 23.00 moet je terug in het hotel zijn.

Verblijf hotel JS in Epen was matig.

Personeel is prettig in de omgang. Hotel faciliteiten en comfort kamer teleurstellend. Het zithoekje van de kamer was prima, verdere outfit zeer gedateerd. Ontbijtservice matig.

Beware

I strongly advise you not to make a booking with this hotel and face the same horrific experience like ours. Upon arriving there was only one person at the reception that could not speak any english- not even the basics! As a result after a lot of effort we reached our hotel room which was with chipped wall and with a TV that was not working. Furthermore we were given the wrong password for the wifi. The next day we informed the hotel owner about the issues and he just nodded! We had to leave earlier from the hotel due to personal reasons and asked a lady that could speak english at the reception if we could get our money back and she said 'no problem'. After requesting for our money back, Hotels.com told us that the owner refused to do so. Beware, these people have nothing to do with hospitality. They disrespected and deceived us and they will do so to you as well.

De kamer rook erg naar verf. Ontbijt: beleg was matig. Bedden waren goed.
