I can't comment because we didn't stay there. Expedia was supposed to book us at a hotel in Emporia, KANSAS, NOT the Knight's Inn in Emporia, VIRGINIA. The hotel in Kansas that Expedia booked us at (and sent us a confirmation for at the Kansas location) had gone out of business, thereby necessitating us to book a hotel on our own in Emporia, Kansas. Nice room but lacked in other areas
The room at this Clarion was recently upgraded. So the room and bathroom were nice. However the outside of the building such as the second level walkway was falling apart significantly. We were not pleased at all with their included hot breakfast. The eggs were powered scrambled, there was no juice selection, no donuts, bagels or English muffins, the sausage was not good. They had 4 pieces of bread in plastic bags for toast and 3 apples. No other fruit or yogurt. They did have waffles and cereal.

The property had been renovated and the room had updated fixturesand amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice stay
Lobby, ballrooms, breakfast area was very nicely updated. Room was clean and looked newly remodeled. Beds were comfortable.Our room Door opened to the outside, but I noticed some rooms opened to an inside hallway.

This hotel is a bit pricey but the bed was comfortable. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't any batter left to make waffles but there were eggs, sausage and other items to choose from for breakfast.

The photos of the bedrooms lead you to believe this is a nicer place than it is. It's dreary. The shower water pressure was terrible and you almost have to step in the bathtub to open the bathroom door (to exit). The beds were fine.

This property clearly used to be all outside but they've renovated it to be partially inside. The inside part is nice, but the set up is very strange. We had an exterior room which is definitely not as good as the interior rooms(we had friends who had an interior room). I'm thankful that there was a fan in our room otherwise we would've heard every sound outside, including cars getting onto the interstate. The worst part about our room though was the incredibly bright light in the parking lot that was shining directly into our window. Even though they have room darkening curtains they do not cover up the edges of the window and we might as well had a light on because it was so bright. We actually went out and bought safety pins just so it was dark enough the second night to actually get some sleep.

If you advertise two queen beds make sure they are queen beds and not double beds like I got. Didn't affect me as I was staying solo but I'm sure many people would be disappointed and mad at the false advertising. Also, breakfast was non existent one day and just barely edible the next. Okay stay for what I was there for.

WOW :) I cant say it loud enough to how Impressive this place was:) The minute Yoi walk inside to the desk it hits you rite in the Face, this isn’t a “normal” motel:) So Incredible CLEAN & ROACH FREE:) Folks that’s all we ask for is EXACTLY what Your Standards are set in place so that Your Help CLEANS SO WELL:) Any where else u stay it’s a Huge disappointment compared to the Clarion Inn:) They need to offer all motels & Inns a conference on HOW TO CLEAN ROOMS & KILL ROACHS !!:) Please Thank the Help for Us & Folks try to show Your Appreciation by leaving them a Tip in Your room, they don’t realize the Awesome job they are doing for US:) Thanks so Much To whomever owns these Inns , Appreciate So Much Your Standards & May the Lord Bless Y’all Beyond Measure:)

The young lady that checked me in was not very customer friendly. I told her my TV was not connecting and she ask if I turned it on. Took everything I had not to reply to that as yes I did turn it on. Maybe their other customers are not as smart. The lady that tended the breakfast area was great though. The bed was comfortable and sheets were great! You can tell all the rooms were once outside rooms and converted to inside rooms by a metal roof and a wall. They also put $100 hold on your card just in case you "tear up" the room.

It looks old and run down from the outside with the underside of upper outside walkways missing concrete. On the good sude the interior of lobby and rooms is very updated and nice. The pool was cool indoor to outdoor but the water was mirky and there were no towels there most of the time. The bar closes early if business is slow and breakfast was mediocre but sufficient.

Quiet. Fairly clean, but not spotless. Check in was not pleasant. Lady did not know anything and the lady helping her gave me completely wrong directions on how to find my room. It was confusing and a bit anxiety provoking, but we found it. Overall, reasonably good hotel.

Great room! Hot water not so!
Overall the room was great. But we could not get hot water from the sink. When staff was told at checkout, we were told it could take up to 20 minutes to get hot water. Unacceptable.

Good overall. Modern rooms, comfy beds, thick blankets. Minor complaint is hot water varied a bit. Barely hot enough one day, fine the next. Plenty of parking, good security. Far enough from freeway to be quiet yet close enough for easy access. Restaurants and supplies close by. Will stay there again next year.

If you want a Spider Bite stay here.
If I were going to this area I would not stay here. We found dog food in our room, two huge black spiders and the facility was dirty. They also promised you a full breakfast and we got a sack of things you could get at Walmart and a breakfast burrito that you had to microwave, but no microwave in the area. I do a lot of traveling and this is not a convention center. The people at the desk at check-in stopped checking us in and waited on two other people before coming back to us. This was a real let down. We woke up the next morning and found bug bites on my two year old grand daughter. . .this place is a dump!!!!!

The front desk staff were very nice. However, the room smelled and there were stains on the bedding. We did not stay. It was very difficult to find another hotel due to graduation and flooding but we were not OK staying here. The lobby was remodeled the rooms were not nice at all.

Great hotel; not-so great housekeeping
Overall I thought the whole trip was great. There was just a couple things that made me not want to give a better rating. First off, I arrived to my room to find standing water in my fridge. As well, whoever set up my key cards could only activate one card, and I had to make multiple trips to the front desk to get both working. Overall, the house keeping was terrible. It took them till almost the end of my stay to clean out my garbage cans and to give me new toilet paper. When I arrived, I barely had half a roll, and was easily out after 2 days. It took them till the 4th day of my visit to actually give me more toilet paper. That’s just downright disgusting and forced me to use the bathroom somewhere else. I was barely at my room most of my week so I couldn’t go and ask the front desk to do something about it.

Seems that they only use 5 rooms on regular basis and they are in the back along highway together. Bathroom shower water never got even warm. Was not cleaned even close to good from previous occupants. Breakfast room had no Tv, it was fend for yourself -which is fine but i prefer my pancake mix fresher than from a vending like dispenser, so nobody has to refilll food/coffee/cereal. 2 Oranges that were pass prime. We left and went out to eat. Should get a credit for that “breakfast”.

This is an outstanding hotel for the money! The staff was helpful, friendly, and skilled. The room was spacious and beautiful. Everything is brand new. We enjoyed the larger size tv with HGTV for me and History channel for my husband. It was very quiet because we happened to be the only guests here. The only downside is that the pool water is cold because it is an indoor/outdoor pool in Kansas in January. We haven’t had breakfast yey, but I can’t wait.

This was a great hotel for the money. The r9om was clean, comfortable and quiet. Beds were comfy, shower was great for tall people and I was pleased with breakfast. They have an indoor/outdoor pool that looked inviting.
