Convenience? You bet! With the Jacks Fork river less than 1/4 mile away and the Dairy Shack actually in your backyard you might never need get in your car the entire time you are here. Yes, you can literally hit the Dairy Shack with a rock (we would advise against that!) from the spacious back porch. You can also see the courthouse just up the street (which you can visit right after you ignore our advice about the rocks and the Dairy Shack). There is a canoe rental, grocery store, bank, gas, all within walking distance. Activities? You bet! Everyone knows about the great canoeing and fishing on the Jacks Fork and Current rivers. With an outfitter just a quarter mile down the road, both of these amazing rivers become within walking distance. But did you also know that Shannon county also offers world class turkey and whitetail hunting? Did you know that we have the Ozark Trail and many many springs and creeks as hiking opportunities? Did you know about the sightseeing at Rocky Falls, Alley Spring Mill, or the wild mustangs that roam free in Shannon County? Stay for a day or a lifetime, you will never get bored in Shannon County Missouri. Comfort? You bet! After a day of enjoying all of the outdoor activities that Eminence has to offer you can relax on either the covered or open-air porches that wrap around half of the house. A beautiful open floor plan, two bedrooms with queen beds and two sleeper sofas in the living room mean plenty of room to spread out while you are recharging for the next day's adventures. If it happens to rain, we have movies to watch, jigsaw puzzles and good old fashion board games. We are pet friendly and have two large crates / dog bedding for your dogs. We have beach towels a plenty for the river so don't use suitcase space on those. We have washer and dryer, toaster, blender, mixer, stove, and everything you need to cook if you choose to. We walked down to the middle of town and down to the river. The location gave easy access to multiple river points just a short drive away. We stayed 2 nights and 3 days. Location is amazing if you're going out and exploring. We did a float from alley springs to eminence (water was a bit high so that was the float available) we used Windy's outfitters ( less then a block away) . We explored Ally springs and Rocky Falls. The communication with host leading up to check in was excellent. Getting into the property was no hassle at all. Arriving at property and first impressions were good from everyone in our party. House was clean and the preteen girls really enjoyed the snacks! ( We picked this property because it suited all our needs and was also pet friendly. But unfortunately our old man dog stayed with Grandma and didn't attend with us but I'm sure he would have approved as well! ) the home had everything we could have needed. The dairy shack was awesome to have in the back yard. After a day exploring the nature areas it was so convenient to have such yummy food so close. And of course ice cream as well ! We came down to celebrate my husband’s birthday along with 3 of our other friends. We all had plenty of room. We enjoyed the back deck a lot in the evenings. Within walking distance to the Dairy Shack. The beds were firm but I’ve slept on worse. The host is very responsive and answers quickly. The home was very clean and the AC IS AMAZING! We were walking distance from a small grocery store,antique shop,gas stations and Wendy’s for river float! Darrin was great and very easy to contact. We will definitely use this place again! I’m not quite young enough for the camping thing even cabins lol. We were able to enjoy our stay away from home and still enjoy the finer things in life full kitchen,bathroom,washer and dryer. There was a to. Of items supplied that typically are forgotten or run out of. Our favorite parts were the deck on the back of the house that has two picnic tables to hang out at after a long day of floating and hiking and there is also a charcoal grill we could have used but we didn’t want to be the first ones to break it in haha.
