Ellmau is equally alive in the warm summer months, with a wealth of activities for every visitor. Ellmau is the starting point of the Rübezahl hiking trail, named after a local mountain spirit. On the Hartkaiser mountain, have a delightful time at Ellmi’s Zauberwelt, a theme park with the allure of magic and information about the natural environment and traditions of the Wilder Kaiser.
Find KaiserBad Ellmau at the base of the mountains, with numerous indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, a climbing wall and a tennis hall. Sit back in the therapeutic waters, rest your body and look up at the glorious view. Play golf at the Wilder Kaiser 27-hole course with a backdrop of snowcapped mountains and sunflower-lined greens.
See chalets dotting the hills around Ellmau. At the mountain’s peak are dramatic rock massifs. An Austrian TV series, Bergdoktor, is set in the Wilder Kaiser and the leading man lives in Ellmau, giving this village and its landscape a celebrity sparkle. Ellmau has one of the region’s only 5-star hotels, testament to its popularity with vacationers.
