Some call it a creek....Mountaintown Creek. It seems more like a river, large, swift, known as one of the premier trophy trout streams in North Georgia. Rainbow's up to 8 lbs have been caught in these waters, 2 to 4 lbs. is the norm. Starting its journey near the boundary of the Cohutta Wilderness Area and eventually joining the Coosawatee River, this stream beckon's the experienced as well as the "want to be" fly fisherman from all over the north east. After an afternoon of romancing the waters, what could be better than relaxing around a campfire, enjoying your favorite beverage with great friends or that special someone? Just a few steps above these waters sits "River Spirit" the home that shares this river with those lucky enough to find it. The home was designed with beauty, relaxation and comfort in mind. Whether you're soaking in the hot tub or sharing fish tales on the spacious covered porch, the memories made here are sure to last a lifetime. The home is equipped with modern conveniences, so taking in a good movie, whipping up some marvelous meals or playing a game or two of pool or foosball down in the game room is always an option.. Retire to one of the luxurious king masters for a great nights rest and rise early to a steaming cup of coffee and the melody of a beautiful morning in the mountains! River Spirit is conveniently located in Ellijay, home of the famous Georgia Apple Festival and only 30 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge where unique shopping and fabulous dining await you! This cabin is in the Coosawattee River Resort allowing guests to use the amenities of the resort during their stay at no extra charge. The rec center has an indoor olympic size heated pool that is open year round. Many of our cabins include more that this basic list of inventory items. The only items you'll need to bring will be food, beverages, and condiments. Having little kids this property was perfect. Since all our kids want to do on vacations are find playgrounds the creek was great. While it was scary and. I don’t have four wheel drive, it was easier each time we drove through the neighborhood. Saw lots of deer, turkeys and a sweet stray dog. Séjour de 7 nuits en mars 2025 ### 6/10 – Acceptable #### Jr L. 28 janv. 2025 Points forts : Propreté #### Just Average Was hoping this would be a great trip but unfortunately the cabin hads it's ok and bad points. I will preface this we have stayed in numerous properties over many years and this was disappointing.Bad: The fireplace is a converted gas fireplace to wood burning meaning the ventilation is too small to accommodate a fire. The smell was too much to bare when lite. I really only chose this cabin for the wood fireplace and didn't use it after the first night. They also didn't provide any firewood just one starter log for a 4 night stay.The house is not well insulated and was too cold to hold a temp higher than 66\. It was in the teens but still.We had one kitchen trash bag, no dishwasher detergent, 4 total bath towels which are only kept in the main level bath and none in the other bathrooms one roll of cheap papertowels.It did have plenty of plates, pans, mugs, silverware and cups.Jacuzzi was nice.Beds were clean.Property was nice and convenient to river ##### Jr L. We stayed here for a Christmas time getaway for just my husband and i and had a wonderful time! The cabin was decorated for Christmas, and was even nicer in person than the pictures. Check in was a breeze and we will be booking this cabin again in the future. Being on the creek was so nice and peaceful to relax and enjoy the decks and the hot tub! ##### Shannon B. Every trip up and down the mountain was immersed in wildlife from squirrels to deer and wild turkeys. It was a joy! The cabin was clean and the owner great to deal with. ##### Chelsea E. We spent most our time enjoying the front porch and listening to the river. Only thing that may be a problem for some is the drive. It’s very steep and rough in places in the neighborhood so we were glad to have AWD. We have already talked about returning with our kids. Loved it. ##### Jennifer G. Beautiful house and loved sitting on the deck and hearing the rushing water. Kitchen was fully stocked and bed was super comfy.
