See House Rules and Rental Agreement. \*Workstation Red Maple Cabin is a secluded, peaceful, mountain home surrounded by woods with the sound of a nearby mountain stream located on the side of Walnut Mountain just minutes from Ellijay. Snuggle in front of the living room fireplace (seasonal), or enjoy the front porch rocking chairs. More rocking chairs grace the expansive back deck with gas BBQ grill, deep woods view, and a serene, quiet, mountain setting. In the evening you can cozy up to the outdoor fire pit, wrap yourself in a blanket, and swap stories. Upon arrival to the wood cabin you are greeted by the front deck with several inviting rocking chairs. Inside are wood walls and wood floors for that true cabin experience. There are 3 decks in all, one in front, and two in back with great views and several rocking chairs. The upper/loft main bedroom has its own private deck. The main level features the living room with a high vaulted ceiling, a cozy fireplace (seasonal), two queen bedrooms, a full bath, and kitchen. Off the kitchen is the second deck running the entire the length of the cabin with a plumbed gas grill and perfect views. The upper/loft main bedroom features a king size bed, private full bathroom, reading nook, and double doors opening to the private screened deck. Downstairs (basement) is a large game room with a Smart TV, sitting area, a regulation size cornhole set, game table, and lots of games. Outdoors, the back yard features a wood-burning fire pit for enjoying great conversations on a chilly night. Blankets are provided too. A picnic table under the trees is ready for your picnic gathering. Each bedroom has smart ROKU TVs with blazing fast internet for accessing your favorite streaming apps just like you were at home. Smart TVs are also located in the living room and game room. Adjacent to the living room is the kitchen stocked with cookware, dishes, glasses, a Hamilton Beach Flex Brew coffee maker for brewing by the pot or individual k-cups, blender, toaster, mixer, pots/pans, dishwasher, and more. Just bring your own groceries to make delicious meals on the gas cooktop and oven. The kitchen is open to the living room so that you can see the TV and talk to the other guests. The table sits six. One thing we love is that it’s quiet here, the stars are amazing, and the wildlife visits from the squirrels, chipmunks, birds, and deer are entertaining. Walnut Mountain offers four lakes and hiking trails. For the more adventurous, Amicalola Falls is only 30-minute drive away and offers great hiking, picnicking, and the falls. Hikers might want to visit the Chattahoochee National Forest on Springer Mountain where the Appalachian Trail begins. Around the Ellijay - Blue Ridge area you’ll discover white water rafting, tubing, zip lines, golf courses, beautiful mountain drives, apple orchards in the fall, antique shopping, and many local wineries and vineyards. Lake access to Lake Dakwa (one of 4 lakes) is by walking up the mountain to the next right turn and following the walkway down to the lake and hiking trail. All guests have access to the Walnut Mountain community amenities. These include an outdoor community swimming pool (CLOSED FOR REMAINDER OF 2025), play ground, tennis courts, basketball court, and a picnic area. Bring your canoe, kayak, and/or fishing poles to take advantage of the 4 private lakes in the community that are home to bass, catfish, and brim. There is a trout fishing stream at the entrance to Walnut Mountain near the picnic area. You will also find several hiking trails on Walnut Mountain. (Check local laws regarding fishing licenses.) You are 5 minutes away from lovely, quaint downtown Ellijay. Stroll around the square and visit the several antique shops, the Amish Furniture Store (Beds Etc.), coffee shops, restaurants, Cartecay Wine & Craft, Boardwalk Pizza & Sub, Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza, River Street Tavern, and so much more. Minutes away is the Rich Mountain Wildlife Management Area offering: Archery, Biking, Canoeing, Hiking, Horseback Riding, Hunting, River Fishing, and Wildlife Viewing. A second dog (at least one year old) can be allowed with an additional $35 fee billed after your accepted reservation. You must notify us upon your accepted reservation that you are bringing a second dog. Keep pet OFF the furniture and beds. A crate is provided for when you are out of the cabin. I would suggest visiting the Apple Orchards that are about 10 minutes away! We went to R & A Orchards, you can pick your apples, tractor ride and you can cut your own fresh flowers. They have different varieties of applies, it was an interesting experience. My family loved picking their own apples and trying apple cider. There is a lot to look into when planning your trip. I didn’t do this but think about this there is a Gold mine (Consolidated Gold mine) an hour away due east and Helen Ga is about an Hour away as well which I have visited last year. On my way back to Florida, we stopped by the Tellus Science Museum which was an amazing experience for my family. I recommend This Cabin stay for those who have kids, the down stairs game room was a highlight for my boys, they loved the arcade which me and my wife played together as well. We played a game of battleship. The Hot tub was nice and relaxing. It was a nice couple days just to get away from Florida. I kinda wished I went around November where it would be colder and get away from the Florida heat. It was about 10 degrees colder in the morning in comparison to the Florida weather in late September . There is a tennis court , pool and an area where you can set on swing near the river which was relaxing. Bring a few tennis rackets and balls if want to utilize the court. I have one complaint, the pool had bolts sticking out of the concrete all around the pool which was dangerous. ##### How L. Cabin was very clean, very comfy, great decor, more games than you can imagine, well stocked with everything down to blankets for use at the fire pit. The property was super clean and had many amenities we enjoyed like the hot tub, fire pit, and arcade game! The location was great; close to orchards, the Cartecay river and downtown Ellijay. It was exactly as described and well-maintained. Very thoughtful touches abound like cozy bathroom rugs, plenty of towels, stocked kitchen, games galore, labeled switches among other amenities. These things may seem trivial but they’re super helpful. It was chilly (and rainy) the weekend we were there making the evenings cozy while cuddled up on the sofa wrapped in blankets! We explored historic downtown Ellijay, local wineries, and hiking….all within a 30-minute drive of the cabin. Communication with the owner was easy, and he was super responsive. Highly recommend for a couple or family and we particularly enjoyed being able to bring our dog. ##### Jennifer P. This cabin is so perfect and my fiancee and I throughly enjoyed our stay. We were super excited to have been able to be here while it snowed, which was icing on the cake to an amazing stay. There is so much thought and care that is put into this cabin. Dan was our life saver when our previous cabin rental was cancelled last minute due to the winter storm. I reached out to Dan asking about his property and he was so quick to respond and agree to host us! He kept us updated not only with the notices from the association on the roads but offered lots of things to do if we decided to go out and explore. This was a much needed getaway for us and we couldn’t have asked for and more. We will definitely be coming back again!!! ##### Christina B. It's a peaceful cabin to hang out and read. It's close to Ellijay and some great hiking. Absolutely amazing cabin with phenomenal views. Waking up to wild turkeys in the back yard was amazing. Enjoyed the cold nights relaxing in the hot tub. Then coming inside and having plenty of entertainment to keep us busy. Tons of games and an arcade as well. And plenty of amazing food and shopping close by. Would definitely recommend this cabin. The game room downstairs was nice but a little too chilly to enjoy during our visit. Firepits and hot tub were very relaxing,...providing hottub towels and blankets for the firepits was a nice touch. Great location to Ellijay and wineries. Very responsive host. Definitely would recommend and we will keep this saved for our next mountain visit. ##### Jim D. The holidays are always tough for her. We try to stay busy, so we decided to take a trip to Ellijay. The entire experience was wonderful. The cabin was even better than the listing.
