Hotel Kastel 1700

10/10 Excellent

"Excellent location and cute room!"

Amphora Hotel

8/10 Good

"We stayed at the Amphora in October break which meant the hotel was relatively quiet, it appeared as if they’d reduced the staff. The main restaurant disappointingly was closed, we were served in the breakfast room by a single waiter who was unable to cope with demand - food there was not great. Location is fine as long as your either up for a long but pleasant walk or happy to take a taxi, beware some of the local taxis are fierce at overcharging €95 for 2 miles from port to hotel - after that one I used Uber for everything which was good. The promenade and beach were excellent. Spa facilities were good easy to access with capacity in October, would be interesting in August. Room was nice and clean with amazing view of Adriatic Sea from balcony. Overall I would recommend staying in the hotel and eating out, Split city was very interesting with nice cafes and restaurants"

Divota Apartment Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Loved this property. We were lucky enough to be upgraded and had a balcony which was lovely to sit and play cards with a drink. There was also a washing machine and a couple of all in one tabs which was helpful. Very central but also easy to park close by. As this was an apartment, we could have cooked, everything was provided, as well as a coffee machine. Couldn’t fault it at all. Breakfast was up the road in a small cafe, also nice"

Bluesun Hotel Berulia

10/10 Excellent

"First of all, BRELA is beautiful. It does not have a lot of tourist due to the fact there is no cruise ship port bus terminal or airport nearby. It feels very local. The restaurants along the beach walkway were amazing and easy to access from the hotel. The sauna was excellent. There was a small fee but well worth it. You must reserve ahead of time but you’ll have a lot of privacy the beaches out front our world class they are small pebble type beaches, but the water is so clear you can see 25 feet Highly recommend heading out to the right side or to the north to a couple of the beach, restaurants and bars as they have outstanding food and drinks steps from the water wasn’t too impressed with the food at the hotel great buffet breakfast, but I wouldn’t recommend eating dinner there not because it wasn’t good. There’s just so many great options down the beach that are right on the water. The hotel was super clean and had been recently refurbished. We will definitely stay there again."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Dol?

The best area to stay in Dol is within the village itself, particularly around the central square and the main road that winds through the village.

Dol is a small, traditional inland village on the island of Brač, known for its historic stone houses and unspoiled rural character. The village is spread out along a valley, with properties often located into the hillsides or clustered around the Church of St. Michael. It's a very peaceful location, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards.

Couples looking for a quiet, romantic retreat will find Dol ideal. The village offers a true escape from the busier coastal towns, providing a chance to enjoy local hospitality, traditional cuisine, and the natural beauty of the island. There are several excellent konobas (traditional taverns) where you can sample local dishes and wines.

For travellers who enjoy walking and exploring the countryside, Dol is an excellent base. Numerous paths and trails lead from the village through the surrounding nature, great for leisurely strolls or more energetic hikes.
