"We have been put initially in a smelly room, but later we asked to move to a different room. However, we cannot stand the quality and cleanliness of the room. Although, it’s newly refurbished, the room still not completely finished - hanging electric cables, dusty and dirty closest, and no windows. We only stayed for 30 minutes and left the hotel. My reservation is for two nights, and we got a refund for a night. "

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Dholpur?
The best area to stay in Dholpur is near the city centre, particularly around the National Highway 44 (NH44) corridor, for convenient access to amenities and local attractions.

This area offers a good balance of accessibility and local character. You'll find a selection of hotels and guesthouses, often with easy access to shops and local eateries. It's a practical base for exploring the city's historical sites.

For couples looking for a more relaxed and private experience, consider properties slightly outside the immediate city centre, closer to the Chambal River. These often provide a more tranquil setting with views of the river or surrounding natural landscapes, ideal for a peaceful retreat.

Families travelling with children might prefer staying closer to NH44. This allows for easier access to transport and ensures that essential services are within reach.
When is the best time to go to Dholpur?
The best time to visit Dholpur is during the cooler, drier months, specifically from October to March.

This period avoids the intense heat of summer and the heavy monsoon rains, making it ideal for exploring the region comfortably. The weather is generally pleasant with clear skies, allowing for enjoyable outdoor activities and sightseeing. Couples and families will find these months great for a relaxed and pleasant holiday.

During these months, you can comfortably visit attractions like the Shergarh Fort and the Machkund Temple, or enjoy a boat ride on the Chambal River without the discomfort of extreme temperatures or humidity.

Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation.
