Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Dhampus?
The best area to stay in Dhampus is within the main village itself, offering the most convenient access to panoramic mountain views and local life.

The village of Dhampus is perched on a hillside, and its main cluster of guesthouses and tea houses is spread along a gentle ridge.
When is the best time to go to Dhampus?
The best time to visit Dhampus is during the spring (March to May) or autumn (September to November) months.

Both seasons offer excellent weather conditions for trekking and enjoying the panoramic mountain views. During spring, the rhododendron forests are in full bloom, adding vibrant colours to the landscape. Autumn brings clear skies and comfortable temperatures, making it ideal for outdoor activities.

For those prioritising clear mountain views, autumn is generally preferred. The air is typically crisp and clear after the monsoon season, providing unobstructed vistas of the Annapurna range. This is especially good for photography enthusiasts and hikers looking for the best scenery.

If you enjoy a more colourful landscape and slightly warmer temperatures, spring is a wonderful choice. The blooming flowers create a picturesque environment, and the weather is still pleasant for exploring the trails around Dhampus.
