![A typical boat that can be hired for the Tanjung puting national park. I spent 4 days on the boat, it was probably the highlight of my holiday, I slept on the deck, with a mosquito net over me and listened to the sounds of the jungle at night. « Fantastic location if you want to see the Orangutans. The village is worth a visit too. The hotel restaurant is good and not too expensive but trips are pricey c. £130 pp for a day. It’s worth noting that the hotel only takes cash (Rupiah and possibly US dollars) so take plenty with you, there’s no ATM for 20 miles! If you fly from Jakarta the domestic terminal has no facility to change money »
