![Västerås is one of the oldest cities in Sweden and Northern Europe. The area has been populated since the Nordic Viking Age, before 1000 AD. In the beginning of the 11th century it was the second largest city in Sweden.
Most of the houses are completely red except for the white gables. That's because of the special paint called Falu red or Falun red that was first created and used in Falun in the copper mines in Dalarna. It is well known for its use on wooden cottages and barns.

« Appartement charmant. NEANMOINS, nous avions réservé un appartement avec 2 chambres. Ce que nous avons découvert sur place et qui n'avait pas été signalé au préalable, c'est qu'une des 2 chambres était minuscule (5 m² au mieux). Pour 2 grands enfants (23 et 19 ans), c'était trop petit. Si cela avait été indiqué (ce qui aurait dû être le cas), nous n'aurions pas fait cette réservation. Impossible de changer car le site était complet. Communication par sms uniquement car personne n'est...

« Unterkunft ruhig und sauber. Handtücher und Bettwäsche gut. Idyllische Umgebung. Ungenügend ausgestattet mit nur je 2 Gabeln, Messern, Tellern usw. Kein Toaster. Keine Fliegen- bzw. Mückenfenster. Im Wohnzimmer nur ein dünner heller Vorhang. An sonnigen Tagen sehr warm. Nicht so schön. Ein grosses Ärgernis ist der Ventilator im Badzummer ohne Fenster. Die Abluft läuft über ein dickes Rohr durch das gesamte Schlafzimmer und der Ventilator sofort an, sobald das Licht im Badezimmer angeht bzw....
