Host quickly replied when needed. House was very nice, kitchen well equipped with pots and utensils (bring your own baking pans & a can opener if you will need them - I had to hunt down an open store on Thanksgiving Day to get a can opener). The front door key pad didn’t work but host provided alternative key location so that was fine. The backyard is fenced with a door leading to the garage but the garage door opener was not in the home so we could not use it. The two backdoors were unlocked when we arrived. That, combined with not knowing who had the garage door opener, made me uncomfortable, especially at night. I made all 3 of my children sleep in the same room as me and locked the bedroom door but still had trouble sleeping. It appeared the house has an alarm system, if that is functional, I think providing guests with a unique code to use it would be great - I think I would have been more comfortable if able to arm it. House and yard were clean and tidy and had almost everything we needed.

On the surface the house is beautiful and fit our needs. The bedrooms are beautiful and comfortable. Washer and dryer are upstairs with three of the bedrooms and detergent pods and bleach were available. That said, every other VRBO I've stayed in (whether I booked it or I was a guest for a girls get-away that someone else who booked) has been immaculate, including everything in the kitchen and kitchen cupboards including utensils and cookware. This property was not up to that standard.Everything in the cupboards was sticky and needed to be cleaned before use. Not really what we had planned for our family reunion. Additionally, the insides of both of the outer doors was gross (see picture of the door from the dining room). The property manager was always prompt at returning messages. He came over to address the hot water issues we had on the first floor. Pro tip- run the hot water on the second floor for a bit to get hot water moving to the first floor. We also advised him that there were no dish towels and minimal TP in the house. He said he would contact the housekeepers... but they did not come in the three days we were there. Fortunately, there is a huge Target about 10 minutes from the house, so we bought our own supplies. We talked with the property manager about all of these things and I would hope that there will be a deep clean of the entire kitchen.
