Daufuskie Island Cottage Historic District

Escape your routine....catch the ferry from Hilton Head, SC. Enjoy quiet & tranquility. This 2 BR, 2 BA cottage sits on one of the island's unpaved roads near the Iron Fish Art Gallery, and Daufuskie Rum Distillery. A short golf cart ride away is Bloody Point, public beach, Melrose and Frye’s Corner Restaurant. Visit the Daufuskie Farmers Market on Saturday.

The interior is decorated with vibrant colors for a cheerful, airy feel. The kitchen & living room are upstairs with numerous picture windows to take in the wooded views. The bedrooms are downstairs. One has a queen size bed and the other has full-size bunk beds.

While you will feel a million miles away from the hustle & bustle of every day living, you can connect when you need to with the wireless internet. We have high speed internet so you can connect to the world or work remotely if needed. Stream shows and movies through NetFlix or Amazon Prime and You Tube TV.

Cottage Rental does not include golf cart rental or ferry transportation. Golf Cart Rental Company will arrange the golf cart rental for you.

First time to the island and we love Daufuskie!

This was our first trip to Daufuskie and we loved our stay! Jay was a wonderful host and quick to reply to all of our questions! Everything we needed was available for our stay. Only tip I have for guests has nothing to do with the home or the island, but with the Lowcountry Ferry we took from Hilton Head to Daufuskie and back. The passenger fee for the ferry is fair, but the cost to bring supplies (groceries, bikes, extra luggage) was very expensive - much much more than advertised by the ferry service. They weigh all luggage before loading it onto the ferry and charge by weight. Before our visit, Jay recommended several other ferry options. So, if you’re planning on bringing additional supplies you may be better off using one of the other ferry services recommended by Jay. We will choose a different ferry for our next stay. Thank you, Jay! We enjoyed our stay and are already planning our next trip back to Daufuskie!

Labor Day Weekend at Templeton's

We loved our stay so much last year that we made sure we came back and booked Templeton's again. We love the cleanliness of the property and the ease of dealing with the host. The cabin has everything we need. Cannot wait to be back on Daufuskie again!

Lovely cottage

Thia was a perfect place to get away to! The cottage was clean and surprisingly stocked with anyrhing we needed. The porch off the living room made you feel like you were sitting in a treehouse! 100% would recommend staying here while visiting Daufuskie.

Wonderful time

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was easy to get to the beach with a golf cart. There was plenty to do! The house was well equipped with everything we needed. I do recommend bringing in plenty of food as the General store is limited. Will stay here again! The beach was not crowded and everyone was friendly. The house was perfect for us and we brought 4 kids. Really enjoyed this peaceful trip as the house was quite private. Never ran into anyone. Absolutely loved it!

Great Experience!

I can’t say enough good things. We came in July. It was me and my husband and our two boys ages 5 and 9. The cottage was cute, clean, and conveniently located close to many of the attractions on the island. The owners had so many things available to enhance your comfort. They have beach towels, beach chairs, sand castle stuff. They thought of everything. We will definitely be back.

This was our first trip to the island and we LOVED it there! This rental is very remote, with everything you need for relaxing by the fire or by the beach! It was very clean and beautifully decorated. Highly, highly recommend.

Family Vacation

We’ve stayed at Templeton Cottage a few times. It’s always very quiet and very relaxing. We love that it’s tucked away in the woods, and my wife is an avid bird watcher and we enjoy sitting on the upper back deck and looking out over the wetland and birdwatching. It’s close to the beach and tucked away just perfectly.

Beach Weekend

Great stay, great communication with Jay. Going to Daufuskie can be a bit tricky--there are several moving parts that don't apply to stays that aren't on islands. Jay made everything easy. He gave us tips on taking ferries and golf carts, and because we took the 7 am ferry, he had the property ready at 8 am. I've stayed at plenty of places through multiple property finders and I've never been able to check into a property that early. It was unexpected and appreciated. And even if the place hadn't been ready, he had offered to let us drop our stuff off so that we could get our day started...also not a usual option on previous rentals. They also replaced a microwave mid-visit. The property is in a good spot. It's off the beaten path (such that there are "beaten paths" on Daufuskie, but within 10 minutes or less, you can be at any of several cool spots--Freeport Marina, Silver Dew Winery, the new distillery. And if you need it, there's a smart TV with access to sports and movies galore. Bottom line: If you're spending a few nights on Daufuskie, this is an excellent spot to do it.
