If you are looking for the perfect French experience on your way to visiting the beaches of Normandy, stay at Ferme de la Ranconniere. It is a picture-perfect inn that has everything you love about France: ancient stone walls, abbey-like quality, great restaurant, nestled in a quiet French town. Our stay was amazing--great experience because of the great features and friendly staff. Great breakfast buffet!

A perfect stay! The whole property is beautiful, quiet, and dreamy! The breakfast and bar had lots of options and good coffee. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious.

We truly enjoyed the property. The room and bathroom were very dark. Would be helpful to have better lighting. You also have to carry you luggage up

Beautiful old property done up with Wiliam Morris style fabrics and a nod to the past in all the tasteful furnishings. It was well-located to the famous beaches. The staff were nice in the bar. Reception person was not unfriendly but not really full of enthusiasm. The problem with such beautiful old hotels is that there either has to be a busy town or the restaurant on-site has to give customers a reason to eat there. Also some of the rooms are dark so my husband paid extra to get us upgraded to a more cheerful room - would have been nice if the hotel gave us a courtesy upgrade. Expedia either has to be clear when the rooms are selected with genuine pictures or the hotel has to be more helpful. Also for those who don't know the area, it would be nice to be met with a bit of history about the property and some suggestions of what to do around the town. This is a suggestion rather than a complaint but it would go a long way to making it a super special stay.

An absolutely beautiful hotel! Spacious, comfortable, relaxed, and totally unique. We loved our stay here. The room was beautifully decorated and simply stunning to stay in. The hotel property is equally stunning, and the restaurant was a true highlight. Breakfast was also wonderfully relaxing and delicious. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We would happily return to Ferme de la Rançonnière if we have the chance.

The rooms were beautifully presented with traditional furnishings that complemented the very aged architecture. The breakfast was an excellent range of foods in a lovely setting in the courtyard. The staff were incredibly helpful in rearranging our rooms so that my disabled wife could enjoy accommodation that suited her needs.

Meget charmerende hotel. Jeg kunne have ønsket, at hotellet tilbød udendørs loungeområder udover nogle få stole ved baren.

We had a wonderful stay at Ferme de la Rançonnière and would absolutely recommend it. The property is beautiful, full of history, and very well maintained. Our room was comfortable, the grounds were peaceful, and the staff were warm and welcoming. The location is perfect for exploring the Normandy landing beaches while still enjoying a quiet countryside setting. Breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant was also very good. The only minor drawback was that the playground could use some maintenance. Otherwise, everything was excellent, and we would happily stay here again.

This hotel is simply amazing, the property is well kept: beautiful landscape, garden, restaurants and bar. We had breakfast and dinner which were well prepared. The breakfast came with fresh squeezed orange juice, variety of bread, crepes, meat and dinner menu has a wide selection, including kid’s plate, seafood, meat and desserts. They have an extensive dessert menu also. Everyone is simply attentive, kind, and welcoming. Receptionists, servers, and team members were fluent in English. Customer service is superb compared to other hotels of its class. There is a small playground, tennis court and a cage for chickens and rabbits. The receptionists gave us food to feed the rabbits. This hotel is about an hour to Mont st. Michel and short driving distance to the Normandy D-day war memorial and museums. I felt so at peace being in the country side of France in this luxurious updated hotel. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. Being here really take you back in time.

We grew to love this place. We had a deluxe room which was one of the largest. At first it felt small but once we organized our belongings, we found it comfortable and charming. The bath is modernized and lighting and power outlets abundant. The grounds are very pretty and full of history. The daily cleanings were thorough and appreciated. My only suggestion would be to enhance the seating. We had a desk chair and small side chair leaving only the bed as a place to relax after a long day of touring sites. We would definitely come back
