You can get to the mall in Courtenay through it, so I walked a few times with my son to Cobb's. The other way leads to a famous coffee shop, a bit on the expensive side, but the pastries are to die for. Coffee could be amazing, but I wouldn't know. I spent almost my entire time when we weren't away outside, staring at the water and the herons. Lots of space outside where you can find shade and a comfy chair or table.Whatever we needed we just had to ask. Kate even washed and folded our laundry! ##### Georgiana P. Séjour de 8 nuits en juillet 2025 ### 6/10 – Acceptable #### Patti V., Holly, Michigan 25 juill. 2025 #### Beautiful location, not as quiet as the neighbourhood I have nothing but praise regarding the location and the large, private outdoor space. The inside is tastefully decorated and the quality of linens, towels are quite nice. What soured our stay here was the pump that came on every 20 seconds when the water ran. I’m not talking about a regular sounding humming pump (of which I’ve lived with all my life). I’m talking about a grinding pump that almost broke the sound barrier. It came on five times during a three minute shower! Additionally, the fire alarm from upstairs at 9:30 pm didn’t help when we were trying to sleep for a 3am departure. As for cleanliness, it looked clean upon arrival, but we dealt with two large spiders in the bathroom in well established webs, the floor was sandy, and there were dust balls around the floor lamp. I’m not certain where the cleaning fee goes here, but they need a new vacuum. ##### Patti V. We enjoyed a restorative and pleasurable time. Kate and Cleo’s (pup) spot has everything you need and they are friendly and welcoming hosts. The property is amazing BUT not entirely private as the owner lives on site and you will see and interact with her daily. She is a lovely woman and not intrusive. The accommodation was top notch, beautifully appointed and super comfortable. We especially enjoyed being able to sit in the beautiful gardens and watch the tide and activity on the water. We spent a lovely 3 nights at Kate’s property, and enjoyed every minute! We loved walking the seaside path right at the foot of the yard, and had the best sleep in ages! Had a wee problem with the fire alarm going off a couple of times, but she is trying to get this sorted.We cooked most of our meals in, and found the kitchen well equipped, and it was wonderful sitting under the grape arbor with a glass of wine every afternoon!
