![Corpusty - children's playground. The children's playground and adjoining football ground are located where once the railway station and goods yard used to be. Only the station building and a platform (seen in background at left) remain of the railway station and goods yard. The station, officially known as Corpusty & Saxthorpe, was a stop on the M&GN (Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway) route between Melton Constable and Great Yarmouth. The station was closed in 1959, the bridge > 1257349 is half filled-in and the trackbed removed. Some of it is buried under a playing field and some has been planted over > 1257355 - most of what remains is overgrown and impassable > 1257344. The villages Corpusty and Saxthorpe, situated either side of the river Bure, merge into each other. « A fabulous hotel. We had a very warm welcome and the owners couldnt do enough to accommodate us. The room was beautifully decorated , clean and comfortable. Nice big mugs for tea and coffee aand spares in the corridor if needed which was a thoughtful touch. The breakfast was continental (cooked only available on the Sunday morning) but was sufficient and nicely presented. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you Neil and Heather »

« Court séjour en famille. Nous avons apprécié la situation de l'hôtel proche de la gare. Cet avantage est naturellement lié à un environnement parfois bruyant (route à fort trafic en fin de journée). Nous avons été très bien accueillis. Les chambres sont simples, mais agréables et confortables. L'offre pour le petit-déjeuner est trés bien et offre de nombreuses combinaisons possibles. »

"The team at reception and at the restaurant (dinner, breakfast) were professionals and very kind. There is a big issue with housekeeping : we stayed with a baby during 5 nights and we had to show we were upset: then they cleand our room ! In fact they never used the vacuum (but we asked for because the room was very dusty ) snd they made the befs only once in 5 nights !!!! 200 euro per night : the cleaning doesn’t deserve this money !!!!"

"Le lieu est absolument magnifique, la propriété, le parc, les arbres. En revanche les lieux de restauration ont clairement besoin d'un manager. Malgré le nombre conséquent de personnel, le petit déjeuner n'était pas régulièrement fourni. Les employés sont cachés à droite à gauche, occupés à plier des serviettes en discutant ou en consommant des bouteilles cachées dans les placards... Un soir nous avons attendu 1h notre commande de repas alors que nous étions avec 2 enfants. C'est vraiment dommage car le lieu est magique et mérite mieux. "
