The house was perfect with plenty of room for our 3 families of 10. Plenty of deck and chairs for everyone to hang out in the evenings after being at the beach all day. It was super easy just being able to keep all of our beach stuff in the truck each night for the short drive to the beach. The house is very close to the beach making it very easy walk back to grab a snack or a drink.

Just as described!!! Views were incredible. Horses just outside the back deck! House was super clean and comfortable. Owners were super responsive!! The distance to the paved road was just perfect. Highly recommend!!

We love this house. It is very clean and well kept. The kitchen is fully equipped, the beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are spotless. The owners are helpful and terrific communicators. The upstairs has an upstairs has an open floor plan for socialization when you have a group. The view of the ocean is gorgeous with beautiful sunrises. A great ocean front place.

Beautiful home with a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy spending time with family! The view from every room was amazing! We loved walking through the "neighborhood" and seeing the wild horses - we saw them every day we were there.

Relaxing Retreat

We have been staying at the Salty Anchor for 5 years! Well appointed, great decor and style, the best location and views all around! Super spacious living space w games, puzzles, books, plus everything u need in the kitchen to cook!

Perfect location

The ease of getting to the property and onto the beach was effortless. It’s a perfect location on Corolla. The view of the ocean from the porch was also better than many in this location. Very cute place.

The decor was beautiful and so was the view! The most special thing about our vacation was seeing the horses! We took a tour to see the wild horses but then we saw them on our own several times. One time they came into the yard to graze. So magical!!

Beautiful spot for a family vacation!

My family and I loved our stay at this beautiful, well-maintained house. The host has done a beautiful job of thinking of all the little things to make it feel like home. We lacked for nothing during our stay. The location is just gorgeous! Isolated yet not difficult to access. My son loved the beach driving!

We enjoyed our stay at the salty anchorHad everything we neededHouse was as advertised and beds were comfortable It was nice having the pool table in the basement. Location was perfect, not too far down the beach and saw horses every day. Jo was very responsive and helpful. This was our first trip to OBX and we would love to come back

What an amazing house with a beautiful view! House has everything you could possibly need. The views off of the front deck are outstanding. We actually saw horses off the back deck! Can't wait to come back.

Beautiful Views

This was the perfect vacation. The views of the sunrise and horses were amazing. We even spotted a foal. It was my daughter’s literal dream come true. You do need a 4x4 vehicle to get there, and I’d recommend timing your trips in and out with the tides. The host was incredible and responsive, and we had no issues at all with the property. The beds were incredibly comfy.

Beautiful home and experience!

We loved the Salty Anchor! We stayed here on Spring Break. This was such a unique experience! The setting of the house with great views of the ocean, beautiful sunrises from the front porch and sunsets from the back porch! And the horses came right up to the house to graze which was so amazing ! Jo host was amazing with communication before and during our stay. The house was beautifully decorated and felt beachy and comfortable! Can’t recommend this place enough!

The Salty Anchor was as advertised. Spectacular ocean views from the deck. The house had everything needed for a long stay and the beds were very comfortable. Lots of things to do in the house like playing pool, games and puzzles. The horses showed up 3 days when the weather was nice. First time driving on the 4x4 beach and that took a little getting use to but no issues. The owners were easy to contact and extremely responsive. We will defiantly be staying here again. All of the pictures of the horses were from the house deck.

Best vacation ever !

This was seriously the best, most relaxing vacation ever. The house was clean and smelled great when we arrived. We had four adults and six kids and there is plenty of room to spread out, no one was crowded, it was great. The dishwasher broke and Jo had a new one installed the very next day. We saw the horses almost everyday, they come right up under the deck. Absolutely incredible and 1000% worth the 12 hour drive we had !

Awesome beach vacation.

The location of the house was amazing! The horses were the highlight of the trip! The sand was incredible. The house was spacious and very nice and tidy, clean and bright. We were unable to use the bottom floor because the air was quite musty smelling, which is a sensitivity for me personally. However I imagine the time of year is partial blame as well as a common problem with beach homes.

Phenomenal Location

Although we visited during a storm which was outside everyone’s control the views from the home and the location were wonderful. And even though the roads were flooded even one block inland, we were completely unaffected due to location of this house. Fast and easy communication to property owners with any questions and even checked in on us to ensure we were all okay after the storm. Loved the pool table and all the beach toy options available even though we didn’t get much of a chance to use them. Would definitely recommend to others.
