From the pictures on the listing, you would never know how drab and sad this place looks. The entire place was given the “landlord special” with a slab of paint covering every imperfection. Still though, there was chipping paint, very uneven floors, and abysmal decor. The house feels like someone just learned what a living space was and put in the bare essentials. From the moment you pull up, you can see chipping paint and worn vinyl siding- my wife and I wondered if we were even at the right place. The entire place smelled strongly of cleaning product when we first arrived, but it faded after a while and the smell of the place was that of mildew or just old house. I know it’s Charleston and a historic building, but compared to the pictures in the listing, there’s just no comparison. Would not return and would not recommend. ##### James G. Only thing I would add, is make sure you bring a midsize SUV or smaller if staying here. I brought my truck, and it was a little tight to park.
