About this property

Outstanding Converted Mill in Beautiful Location - Pass the Keys

  • Relax and unwind with a rare stay in this stunning converted mill.

Sympathetically restored and beautifully presented throughout, blending original character with modern comfort.

The spacious open-plan living area is perfect for families and friends to gather.

An idyllic stay at any time of year, cosy up by the log burner in winter, or enjoy summer evenings in the garden where the gentle sound of the running stream creates the perfect setting for an evening glass of wine or morning coffee.

Tucked away in a peaceful rural setting just moments from the charming town of Gatehouse of Fleet in Dumfries & Galloway, this beautifully converted former mill offers a truly unique and tranquil escape for up to six guests.

Originally a historic flour mill, the property was thoughtfully transformed in 2008 to an exceptional standard. Many original features remain, including the impressive mill machinery displayed at ceiling height, a striking reminder of its heritage.

The mill is also famed as the birthplace of celebrated Scottish artists “The Faeds,” with works by John Faed exhibited at the nearby Kirkcudbright Galleries.

Beautifully presented throughout, the cottage combines high ceilings, character features and generous living spaces to create a one-of-a-kind stay in the heart of Scotland’s stunning south west.

    Bedroom Two
Flexible and comfortable, with two single beds and ample wardrobe space, ideal for friends, couples or children.

    Bedroom Three

    Bathroom
A generous family bathroom complete with a sleek LED mirror, vanity unit, heated towel rail and a powerful shower over the bath, perfect for refreshing after a day outdoors.

    Sitting Area
Stretch out on the large L-shaped modular sofa and enjoy your favourite shows on the wall-mounted Smart TV with soundbar, or gather for board games and conversation. In the cooler months, the log burner creates a warm and cosy atmosphere making it an idyllic choice for autumn escapes or festive winter stays.

    Dining Area
A large dining table comfortably seats six guests, whether you’re enjoying a leisurely breakfast or a celebratory evening meal.

    Kitchen
Fully equipped with everything you need for home cooking, from light lunches to hearty dinners. With two fridges, there’s plenty of space to stock up and settle in.

    SECOND FLOOR – Mezzanine Retreat

A staircase from the kitchen leads to the charming mezzanine level. Here you’ll find a comfortable reading nook with armchair and footstool, a selection of books, and a desk area for guests needing to work remotely.

From this elevated vantage point, you can admire both the original mill machinery up close and enjoy panoramic views across the open-plan living area below.

    Garden & Outdoor Space

Patio doors open onto a spacious enclosed garden with a large patio and picnic-style seating, perfect for al fresco dining in the warmer months.

The gentle sound of the mill stream flowing through the garden creates a wonderfully calming atmosphere. Enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine to the soothing soundtrack of running water — a true “switch off” moment.

The garden is enclosed for pets, although please note there is a small section where the stream passes through the boundary.
