Exploration of the bastides, many within 30 - 90 minutes of Mandarou, provides many opportunities to explore the history of the area. Bike rides and walks through the many quiet country roads was a highlight of our visit, with something new spotted around every corner. The night skies are uninterrupted with light, so star gazing is an amazing experience. Joel and Chantal were wonderful hosts! Both were always welcoming and very helpful. L’accueil a été agréable à notre arrivée. L’intérieur, quant à lui, mériterait un petit rafraîchissement et un meilleur entretien : nous avons trouvé beaucoup de toiles d’araignées et d’araignées un peu partout. La présence importante d’insectes (moustiques, guêpes, frelons asiatiques) a également rendu le séjour parfois moins confortable.
