With views over Tivoli Villa Adriana 5/5 Excellent "This huge elegant house is a remarkable place to stay, the opposite of a bland holiday villa, it has cool marble floors & frescoes but somehow doesn’t take itself too seriously. We have 8 children between ages 2 to 16 and we were swallowed up in the massive rooms. All of the children enjoyed it: the pool, the massive basement playroom and billiard table, the great stone fireplace where we lit a fire one cooler evening in October.The host Lucia was extremely kind to us although we arrived very late because of heavy traffic and losing our way, and was readily helpful but respectful of our privacy during our stay.The enchanted fountains of the Villa d’Este or the Villa Adriana are a short drive, and Rome centre can be reached easily in under an hour by driving to the end of line B and taking the Metro at Rebibbia.This is in our opinion very definitely superb value for a larger group or family such as ours, who have a car to get around. Given the location, there is no parking, but we had no problems finding free parking within a 3 minute walk. (I'd recommend a car so that you can visit outlying towns / villages/ mountains.)
