Stampede! Space, space and more space! This home is loving referred as the "Ranche" because there is so much space! A great place for multiple families to convene and enjoy the Calgary Stampede, Banff and the mountains as well as the beautiful rolling Foothills of Alberta. The property is located in a rural location on 5 acres of land, but still within minutes to all amenities outside of Okotoks or South Calgary. A car is required. You will be able to spread out here with room for everyone. A farm table seats 10, a huge kitchen with all amenities, and a wrap around veranda and extended deck space perfect for summer barbeques. The home boasts in floor heating, a second mini-kitchen in the basement and well as many other upgrades and renovations for modern yet comfortable stay. This home comfortably sleeps 8 adults in king or queen sized beds with soft duvets and pillow tops. There is additional pull out bedding if required (double air mattress on frame and / or single twin roll away with memory foam mattress) for up to 10\. Please note there is an extra $20 pp / night charge for reservations with over 10 persons due to extra cleaning required. There were 5 adults & 6 children ranging in age from 2 - 12 yrs old. The house provided good sleeping arrangements for everyone & the yard had ample space for the kids to run around or jump on the trampoline. Short drive for us to take day trips to the Calgary Zoo, Granary Road & Okotoks rec centre. The upstairs bedrooms were a quite warm for sleeping the first night (+30°C that night) but with the ceiling fans going & the wind blowing the rooms finally cooled down to a comfortable level. No firewood was available so we had to go buy some and there was no first aid kit on site which was an issue that we had but had one in my vehicle. Lastly watch out for pokey plants in the yard, dog got one in her paw and was not happy. The home was clean and tidy and had all the supplies we needed to make our meals. The house is very spacious and nicely designed in a welcoming, relaxing way. Beds were very comfortable, and kitchen had everything we could've wanted. It was the perfect location for us to explore the town of High River, The Bar U Ranch, Waterton Lakes National Park, Banff National Park, and Calgary. I recommend taking the owner's advice and visiting Saskatoon Farm, which had the best Saskatoon pie in the area. And the owner was great at communicating with us and answering any questions we had.
