Hotel staff was very friendly. I asked for earlier check-in and she helped me. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. I stayed here many times before and it's still the place to stay for an affordable price!
Wifi wasn’t good. No hot water. Lighting was awful to get ready in.

Affordable and convenient
I stayed here to attend a conference next door. It was clean, comfortable and met my basic needs. I was pleased to be put on the second floor, where it was less noisy.

Close to the foothills hospital so very convenient
Staff were lovely and was only a 5 min drive to the hospital, plenty of restaurant options close by
Staff was wonderful, told us that the hotel was built in the 70’s, also that it would be shutting down in a couple weeks, which I’m honestly not very surprised about. If it were to stay open, would definitely need serious updating. Lights, mirrors, bathtub, shower head, shower controls, curtains, and walls would all need to be replaced. Shower controls were the most difficult thing to figure out how to use; the blue knob wasn’t for cold water but was for switching between the shower head and the faucet, could never get the right temperature and had to change hot or cold water levels every two minutes. Water and hair from the last person’s shower were still in the tub when we arrived. Toilet didn’t work properly, had no instructions to hold down the lever in order for it to actually flush (we found out we had to do this about 10 minutes before we had to leave). Alarm clock in the empty room beside us started going off at midnight and wasn’t shut off until 12:30 after we and another room called the front desk to complain. Boyfriend didn’t trust the floor enough to walk barefoot or put his clothes or bags down on it and wore his socks the whole time. Again, front desk staff were amazing, but every housekeeper we came across looked miserable, they didn’t have proper housekeeper carts and used a shopping cart probably stolen from a grocery store instead. Definitely what I expected for $73 for one night. Would use as a last resort, but never as a plan A.
When I called and asked for the amount of deposit of the room I thought the girl said $100 on the phone, but when I arrived I found it was $200 instead. I think hotels should list the deposit amount on their ads so their customers are aware and not in shock. The only best thing the lady suggested was the red carpet I paid 86$ for the room and 50$ for the depoist

Hot room
Arrived at midnight from a long travel day. The room was very warm and the thermostat was turned down as far as it could go. Could not cool the room except by opening the bathroom window. Made for an uncomfortable sleep, awoke early and left without eating the breakfast which looked OK. The lighting was a bit dim in the room.
This hotel is very nice, especially the service staff, especially warm and considerate. The hotel offers breakfast, water, very good.We are very happy. This hotel will definitely be recommended.

Not horrible
About as basic as you can get but the service was friendly, price was cheap and it was clean. Its reeeeeeally outdated and rundown though so even thought its clean, you get paranoid about it being dirty.

friendly staff
The room needs to be remodeled, the vent along the baseboard was open and you can see wires.
Hotel was okay. Old, but functional. Rooms are dark, bathroom and room furnishings are dated but okay for a quick stay. Location is close to restaurants and gas stations. Pool was closed for the season but wouldve been a nice amenity. Staff are always approachable and welcoming.

Affordable and close to the Foothills Hospital
I booked a room with 2 queen beds and was pleasantly surprised to find out they had given us a 1 bedroom suite for the same price! Beds were comfortable. Room was heated with hot water and was way too hot but there was air conditioning which we turned on. Free continental breakfast is minimal but all we needed.

Second visit
Value hotel..older motif. Had same room on second visit..still had not fixed shower head that sprays at ceiling even after I told them 2 week earlier. Basic accommodation. Best part is staff is super polite and friendly.
The motel is dated but clean. We have stayed there many times and have not had a bad experience yet. It is not fancy or high class.

Good enough if you're just passing through...
I wouldn't stay any longer then one night. One part of the building was built in the 70's, another part, in the 50's! So you're dealing with a significantly older hotel, but not as a fancy/preserved kinda hotel.
Pros:
Hotel staff we're fantastic! The bathroom and sink area were cleaner then expected. Had a rather large fridge for a hotel, microwave in the room and there was flat screen TV with hookups. Wifi was reliable. Bed was nice and clean. Continental breakfast does the job.
Cons:
Cause it's an older building, there's not enough outlets to charge all your laptops, phones, etc. And the carpet needs either deep cleaning or a complete replacement. Didn't dare walk around barefoot, had to keep socks on all the time. Stayed 2 nights and by the 2nd night couldn't get too close to the carpet without allergies being set off. This is why I wouldn't stay more then 1 night, the carpet's condition starts to affect the back of your nose and throat. Also avoid having cereal for breakfast cause the milk's kept out on the counter all morning and not kept cold.
First appearance not great. All staff were excellent. Room needed a total re-do as run-down. Sink, tub, toilet were replaced but, floor, lights, walls all not acceptable. Pillows lumpy but mattress good! Had to dust the phone before use! Continental breakfast - no real juice - had to purchase - little place to sit (in lobby) to eat. Two lights over bed were falling apart! Fridge & TV okay!!
Hotel is accommodating and helpful. There's also the free continental breakfast.

Convenient and affordable
Hotel is convenient to Calgary and the staff is very accomodating. As has been mentioned before it's an older hotel so it's better for those just looking for a place to rest their head rather than a luxurious experience. Free breakfast is a nice perk.
