We really wanted to like this place - it’s a gorgeous, old stone chalet with great photos. Unfortunately, we were met by an unpleasant man who led us to a very small room that had a horrific smell. We tried to air the place out but it didn’t fix the problem. We asked about the smell, assuming that we be moved to a different room, but the man was irritated at our request and gave us a bottle of pine cleaner to pour down the sink drain...and that didn’t fix it. Also, we were bit by some unseen bugs all night.
The listing on Hotels.com indicates a bar and restaurant, but both are permanently closed. The nearest restaurant is about 20 minutes away.
This place is a sad iteration of what it should be. It’s such a stunning location and amazing building to be run so poorly that it makes what should be a great stay into a terrible disappointment.
