FIG TREE is in a small complex within walking distance of the "Blue Room" cafe, "Green Room" fresh fruit and vegetables, "Fishes", the Gelati shop and Point Lookout Bakery. It is also an easy stroll to the Gorge Walk and Point Lookout Surf Lifesavers Club. No pre-arrival clean Sadly, this not the experience we hoped for…having arrived on the last ferry from the mainland with kids aged 6, 4 and 1, the initial problem was the property was not left unlocked as described in the welcome email. I had to climb in through the back porch. Next, the property had not been cleaned - used towels, ants eating food scattered on the floor, dirty beds, and unwashed dishes. There was no answer from the rental company’s emergency line for 30 mins. Thereafter, the team were helpful and apologetic, plus brought us sheets and towels. Making 5 beds with screaming kids wasn’t our idea of a relaxing first evening. We were asked when we’d be out in the morning so cleaners could come & I said 0900\. Having made the effort to get up and out, the cleaners couldn’t come till the afternoon. We received an apologetic note plus bottle of wine, but no offer of a refund (even partial). I imagine this was a human error & these things happen. Plus, staff did apologise, but given the impact on our experience I would have expected an offer of some money back. ##### Richard M.
