Extremely filty room, rust and brown water came out of the shower every time it was first turned on, carpet sticky and smelly, half of the lights and the electrical outlets were not working or missing bulbs, air conditioner extremely noisy and did not cool room, all surfaces grimy and dirty. Missing TV remote and refrigerator was not working. Spiders appeared in the bathroom during the night. Several long term guest sit outside their rooms watching you go in and out of room as though they are scooping out that can be stolen. Whole building was neglected and barely standing. The room we were supposed to stay in was severely water damaged and barely held together with a poorly done plaster repair job, there were roaches in the room, and there were dark stains on the mattresses that looked like either dried blood, or dried feces and the smell of mold and rot. There was a disclaimer at the front desk that you had to sign stating that you shouldn't open your door after dark or you'll probably get robbed and that the hotel wasn't responsible for it if you did. There were open oil cans in front of some of the rooms. The room looked like it was straight out of 1975, the knob for the cold water in the shower fell off, the plug next next to the sink had the Metal prong from a cord hanging out of it, none of the other pluge in the room would hold a cord to charge any of me devices. Only one of the lamps worked out of the four that was there. But for 57.00$ a night what are you to expect. I did sleep well though, so for a cheap stay a place to lay your head for the night it will work. It only cost me $50/night so I knew it wouldnt be high society. When i showed my wife photos she said "Thats Methed Up" funny, but true. I found a bag of tobacco in the night stand. Smelled bad, wasnt clean. Every piece of furniture was what most people would put on the side of the road with a sign that says free and nobody would pick it up. This isnt a place where people stay if they have the choice. Its a place to survive hard times. Im not above staying in cheap hotels, but this is the worst I have stayed yet. I didnt feel safe either. No smoke detector surprise surprise and sketchy electricity. Pretty rude front desk person but im sure she is jaded from all the rif raf and complaints. I reported it and they said they would call maintenance. I returned 4 hours later to find the door wide open, the sink still full of filthy water and plumbing on the floor. On the Northside parking were about 10 men drinking and urinating on the walls behind cars. Further up closer to the office it appeared to be criminal activties happening with what looked like long time residents. The walls were covered in mold, and the shower curtain and tub were similarly affected. The management's attempt to conceal holes in the walls with sealant and paint was ineffective. Unfortunately, the hotel attracts an undesirable crowd, creating an unpleasant atmosphere. To address the mold issues, the hotel could consider implementing better ventilation and cleaning practices. Regularly washing and drying the shower curtain, and ensuring the bathroom is well-ventilated, can help prevent mold growth ¹.
