There were roaches in our room. It is not a bed and breakfast, which is how it was listed. As soon as I paid for the room, I received an email saying they do not offer breakfast. The beach is covered in seaweed which smells like rotten eggs. I know this is not their fault but good to know before spending a lot of money on this place. There was a lot of trash on the beach as well. It is not a swimmable beach due to the seaweed. They have kayaks available but to use them you will need to make your way through 6 inches of mud, seaweed and flies to get the kayak into the water. The room had a Keurig and some coffee pods but only a plastic cup or a wine glass to drink coffee out of. They provided creamer and sugar but nothing to stir the coffee with. We tried to kayak once but the beach was so rocky so far out that it was difficult, swimming was impossible. The location was very quiet and not touristy like Key West, which is what we were looking for. The breakfast was abysmal (packaged bagels, yogurt and cold cereal), I've had better at a Best Western. The location is right on the Atlantic and parking is free and easy. The treehouse is rustic and has a shower the size of a submarine shower and bring your own body soap. But its nice and private and separate from the main building. The key deer visit nightly and are adorable. The room and bathroom were very nicely decorated and clean. The bed was comfortable. The beach front area had some trash that needed to be picked up and the home could use some landscaping. We did not stay for the continental breakfast so can not speak to that. Check in was a little challenging; I did not receive the e-mail day before check-in that I was expecting but did receive a phone call. However, that came up on my caller ID as Calvo Construction so I thought it was a spam call. So we were stressed out about check in and payment which is made just prior to arrival via a link sent by phone. ##### Donna Stayed 1 night in May 2024 ### 4/10 Poor #### Bert Mar 10, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, room comfort Disliked: Staff & service #### Not the best There were a large number of flight delays and I tried to keep managementinformed with multiple emails and voicemails. Only one response was received. That was from someone with very poor English skills. She sent a video of how to find the room. We arrived very late only to find the door to our room to be padlocked with a combination lock. No combination was provided until the next morning. Manager had mentioned that we could use a fifth wheel travel trailer if there were "issues with the door". We did sleep in the trailer that night. When I discussed this with manager the next morning, she provided the combination but not offered no apology or refund. I feel that there should have been some attempt to compensate us for the substandard accommodations on our first night. All that being said, the property was quite nice, with direct beach access from the room.
