Quayside Fishermans Cottage

"The cottage is in a lovely position overlooking the quay. Although parking is at the kerbside, we never had a problem parking either outside or nearby.This old cottage has been modernised very well and has a surprising amount of space. Everywhere was very clean and well equipped.The bed in the master bedroom was one of the comfiest we have slept in and the view from the bedroom windows across the estuary was lovely.There's a decent selection of pubs to choose from given that Appledore is quite small. All had a good selection of beers. To eat, Jack Spratts was good, and The Royal Plaice fish 'n' chip shop behind the cottage served great food, but service was slow.All in all, would definitely recommend staying here."
Hartland Quay Hotel

"I booked a single room and the room was fine, however, there's been a heatwave in the UK and it continued while I was staying at this hotel. I would have thought that, given there is no air conditioning in the hotel rooms and the heatwave was ongoing, a fan would have been provided. My room faced west so it was quite hot and it didn't cool down much as the evening progressed because there was no cross breeze - just one window on one side of the room. I was quite disappointed to find that whoever is running this hotel didn't think to provide fans during the heatwave."

"Das Chalet ist sauber und hat einen schönen Meerblick. Wir hatten bestes Wetter und waren viel draußen, auch den kleinen Wanderweg zur versteckten Bucht haben wir genossen. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht und es gibt viele Infos vor Ort. Die Einrichtungen des Parks stehen einen nur gegen Gebühr zur Verfügung, aber als Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungen in Devon würden wir es wieder buchen."
