"Very cute apartment over 3 floors with a small but fully stocked kitchen. Good air con on top 2 floors. Short steep walk (7 mins) to the top of motovun. You check in at a restaurant up the hill and one of the staff then takes you to the apartment. Free parking nearby. Only real negatives were the shower cubicle which was way too small and quite a few mozzies in the evening when drinking wine on the terrace…"

"Lovely small hotel in the small walled city of Bale. Very good breakfast buffet & excellent attached 5 star restaurant. Excellent service. For North American travellers, there is no elevator so you may want to transfer your travel items into a smaller carry-on. For the hotel, please add an in room kettle. As a traveller, sometimes you need to make yourself an herbal tea or an early morning coffee. Also, please have 100% overhead coverage of the areas connecting the buildings. It rained during...

Maistra Select Belvedere Resort

8/10 Good

"No heating in the appartment at the end of October means 10degrees C at night outside… so it’s cold in the appartment as well."

Hotel Molindrio Plava Laguna

8/10 Good

"Great hotel and perfect location for our event Ironman 70.3 Poreč! Smaller room than expected (compared to photos) but soon got used to it and we used the balcony to store the bike. Comfortable bed, with adequate storage and spacious bathroom. Daily room service to replenish towels and hotel service for extra pillows and anything else you may need. We had breakfast and dinner included - both services had a wide variety of foods at the buffet that were all delicious. They even had an earlier breakfast service provided on race day which was greatly appreciated! The chefs were there to cook fresh food to keep everything replenished, and the staff were always there to help tidy away. Me and my husband enjoyed trying out the different foods each night, specially the deserts! One thing we made use of was the sauna and wellness area which you could use for 2 hours per day. We used the Sauna and steam room a lot, specially post race. Towels, water and tea were provided. My husband also used the Gym there on the first night which we were pleasantly surprised by, lots of free weights, machines and a squat rack. One highlight for me was being able to get my hair done by the hotel hair dresser, I wanted some french plaits done for the race and she managed to squeeze me in the day before. Very reasonably priced and friendly. Overall really happy with our stay, friendly staff and great experience. Such a lovely place to stay, we would come back!"

Maistra Camping Amarin Mobile homes

10/10 Excellent

"My family and I were traveling and stumbled upon this camping/trailer house. We booked 2 nights and my wife absolutely loved it. Plenty of space for two adults and two kids. Two bathrooms. A large covered deck. And all the amenities you could ask for. On the beach with several pools as an alternate. Great stay."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Banki?

The best time to visit Banki, Istria County, Croatia, is during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to early October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During these shoulder seasons, the weather is comfortably warm, ideal for exploring the Istrian countryside, visiting charming hilltop towns, and enjoying outdoor activities without the peak summer heat. You'll find that attractions are open, and restaurants are fully operational, but with a more relaxed atmosphere compared to July and August. This period offers a great balance for those seeking a tranquil yet fully enjoyable experience.

For travellers prioritising warm swimming weather and a lively option, the summer months of July and August are also excellent. The Adriatic Sea is at its warmest, and the coastal towns are bustling with activity.
