Key landmarks like the Baeza Cathedral, Plaza de Santa María, and Palacio de Jabalquinto are all within a short stroll. The streets are largely pedestrian-friendly, with many small squares and courtyards. Couples looking for a romantic getaway will particularly enjoy staying within the historic core. The elegant hotels often feature traditional Andalusian courtyards and offer a peaceful retreat after a day of sightseeing. You'll find charming local restaurants and tapas bars just steps from your accommodation, superb for enjoying an evening out.

When is the best time to go to Old Town Baeza?

During these months, the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for exploring the town's World Heritage-listed Renaissance architecture on foot. You'll find comfortable temperatures for strolling through the Plaza de Santa Cruz or visiting the Santa María Cathedral without the intense heat of summer. Couples often find these seasons superb for a romantic getaway. The softer light of spring and autumn enhances the beauty of the historic buildings, and you can enjoy al fresco dining in the evenings without being too warm or cold. It's also a great time for leisurely walks through the olive groves surrounding the town. For solo travellers interested in culture and history, spring and autumn offer a more relaxed experience. The crowds are generally smaller than in summer, allowing for a more intimate appreciation of sites like the Jabalquinto Palace and the old university.

"Absolutely loved this hotel. It’s simple, nothing fancy, but charming. Rustic and surrounded by large olive gardens; it made us feel like grandpa’s farm. We’ve been in many hotels; some 5 stars and my son said this one has been the most beautiful hotel we have been. The sunrise here is stunning, the view and the feeling is indescribable!! Very clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly!! Hardly recommend it! Worth the driving."

Top Old Town Baeza Hotel Reviews

Hotel Palacio de Úbeda 5 G.L.

10/10 Excellent

"Great place close to downtown and all main attractions and restaurants. Room was Amaizing. Pool was great but unfortunately pool bar was closed at that time of the year. Great experience. Highly recommended."

Hotel YIT El Postigo

8/10 Good

"The staff were very nice and helpful but they only gave us information about the Resturant for the tourist areas we asked where the local go and she said here but as we were walking we came upon the really traditional Spanish restaurant the kind that you want to go and try while you are there not a touristy place when we asked on a Saturday Sunday the hours of stores opening also got wrong infos naturally we found out on our own later that they were open indeed."

Hotel Alvar Fañez

10/10 Excellent

"This spot is amazing right in the middle of the action. But still quiet and comfortable. Large rooms and a great on-site breakfast. The small pub is also quaint. All the staff was super friendly and helpful. The Public free parking is nearby. I can only assume the restaurant is fantastic, but we didn’t try it. Would stay here again."

Hotel YIT La Casona del Arco

10/10 Excellent

"What a charming place. The location is perfect inside of the ruins, close to main plaza. Free and 24hr parking. The price incredible. For being in the middle of town, it was not loud and the rooms were dark in the morning so you can sleep in. Definitely adds to feeling you are back into the 16th Century."

TRH Ciudad de Baeza

10/10 Excellent

"What a delightful hotel in a historic building, in a lovely old town. Reception was friendly & helpful, the room was spacious, comfortable & clean. As we're the public area, bar, dining room, court yard & lounge. Breakfast was very good. An advantage for us on our road trip was secure parking at the hotel for a small charge."
