We had a lovely stay at Askot Cottages and were sad to leave! The cottage was very cosy and has been very thoughtfully designed. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the gorgeous view from the big window. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights twice while we were there! We also appreciated the small touches, with plenty of tea and coffee for our stay, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided. There is even a small shop where they have basics you can purchase (cash only). Having a washing machine (including detergent) was a bonus too! Would definitely recommend!

Our family had a wonderful time at this cottage. The setting is beautiful, peaceful, and pleasant, offering stunning views—we could enjoy lovely sunrises and sunsets, and even watch horses strolling leisurely right outside the window. We highly recommend this place. It is also very conveniently located for trips to the Highlands, Vík, and other areas. All in all, everything here was absolutely amazing!

We wish we could have stayed longer! We only spent one night here because we were traveling the Ring Road, but if we hadn’t been, we would have made this our home base for our entire 10-day trip! The location is fantastic for exploring Iceland’s south and west regions, and the accommodations were wonderful. Every detail felt so thoughtfully designed, from the stylish decor and cozy atmosphere to the little touches and amenities that made it feel like a home away from home. It was incredibly comfortable, and we had our best night’s sleep of the entire trip here! One of our favorite features was the stunning oversized window overlooking the picturesque farmland and beautiful Icelandic horses. This place is special. An absolute gem and easily one of our favorite stays in Iceland!

Highly recommended if you need a place to explore Iceland's south coast. I am so glad my wife and I picked this place. The check-in and checkout process were seamless. The cabin is clean and cozy. The amenities are all well-thought out by the host: wifi, welcome packet complete with instructions, mini fridge, microwave, electric kettle, espresso machine, washer/dryer, dishwasher, bluetooth speaker, EV charger, detergents, dishes, utensils, cookwares, smoke detector, fire extinguisher, soap/shampoo, body wash, and even a shoe horn. The towels and linens are clean and high quality. There is also a self-serve mini store.

We LOVED this property. Tucked off the main road in the farmland, was such a well appointed cottage with everything we could have possibly needed. The views were spectacular, the horses and sheep were so fun to watch right outside the big picture window. We loved it so much that we talked about building a little cottage on our own property similar to it. I highly recommend for small families or couples!!

The cottage was very nice and had everything you need. But no dresser and no freezer. Mini fridge was perfect since we did not cook but made sandwiches. There is a hot water kettle, nescafe coffee maker, a toaster, coffee pods, teapots and pans, cups plates etc It was very comfortable. We did laundry in the washer drier combo. It has an electric car charger upfront if you are driving an EV vehicle. The horses came by to meet us.

A spectacular accommodation in an enchanting setting, thoroughly enjoyed and can’t wait to return. We arrived during a particularly bad winter storm and appreciated all the amenities, special attention to detail, and kindness of our hosts who were very attentive to our demands.

Perfectly sized cottages with fully stocked kitchen, v comfortable bed, and surprisingly well sized and modern bathroom made our stay super enjoyable. Then there was the long vista out the large wall window, which included several new foals learning to play and prance about. We had two nit problems that were resolved cleanly and without any time encumbrance on us. Location was super quiet for great sleep, and only 5-7 minutes from the ring road so we could get where we needed to. Would highly recommend.

Quiet, peaceful, beautiful property. Communication with the owner was prompt and very helpful with questions we had. A small self-serve store on site was a bonus convenience. This is a great location if you are wanting to access the Highland areas of Landmannalauger or Maelifell (we did both from here) or some of the beautiful waterfalls along the South Coast (Seljalandsfoss, Gljufrabui, Skogafoss, Nauthusagil, Kvernafoss). We stayed in 4 different places during our 10 day trip...Askot was our favorite. Just a perfect place to cook your own meals, catch up on laundry, and explore various highlights of the region. The horses on site were an added bonus and added to the rural feel of this special spot.

Askot Cottage was amazing! We definitely wished we had stayed more than one night. Directions were clear, property was well illuminated, and entry was easy. I appreciated the fact that each cottage has its own EV charger and washer/dryer combo. We also had a great view of the northern lights during our stay!

The best property, highly recommend!

We had the most amazing stay at Askót Cottages. The location of the property was perfect when exploring the south of Iceland and the Golden Circle by car. We were even lucky enough to see the Northern Lights 2 nights whilst at the property!

Beautiful brand new 5 star cottages

What a wonderful place to stay, truly a luxury brand new cabin with all the mod cons of a 5 star suite. The hosts were lovely and welcoming I’d recommend anyone to stay here, you won’t be disappointed by the level of comfort.

Extremely easy check in, the cottage was clean and comfortable and well appointed, we had everything we needed. The futon was very comfortable and unwinding with coffee in the swing was perfection. Wish we would have stayed more nights. Added bonuses: their on-site shop was a life saver for snacks and drinks!!! And they have a place for recycling and trash which is kind of hard to come by. The horses are snuggly and wonderful, sunrise views and aurora views are epic. Best place we stayed in Iceland!!!

A Truly Special Stay in Iceland — One of Our Favorites! Áskot Cottages was one of our favorite stays during our Iceland trip. From the moment we arrived, we appreciated the thoughtful elevated touches throughout the property, especially the beautiful interior design and cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Having a washing machine was an absolute game changer for our family. After being on the road for several days, being able to do laundry mid-trip made our journey so much easier and more comfortable. One of the highlights was meeting Greta, the owner. She was absolutely delightful and clearly has such a passion for what she does. She took the time to give our 9-year-old son a tour of the horse stables and showed him their incredible equine water pool therapy for the horses. It was such a unique and memorable experience for him. Watching the horses peacefully grazing on the grass right outside our window was magical — such a picturesque and relaxing view that truly captured the beauty and tranquility of Iceland. We also rented a hybrid car, and having a complimentary Tesla EV charger on-site was the perfect finishing touch. It was such a thoughtful amenity and made our stay even more convenient. We highly recommend Áskot Cottages and only wish we had booked more nights. It was a beautiful, unique, and unforgettable part of our Iceland adventure.

Exceptional experience! Perfectly designed cabins with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We have a 4 and 6 year old and they loved it. The owners took us to the barn and we got to pet the horses and see them exercising. Such kind and friendly hosts! I was one of the best places we have ever stayed and I hope we can go back again someday!

Askot Cottages are beyond phenomenal! Our best stay in Iceland. The cottage design is thoughtful and purposeful. Every little detail adds to the comfort and experience for the guest. The instructions are presented in a beautifully designed booklet that was clear and complete. All the amenities were stocked and high quality. I wish every place I stayed could be this perfect!
