The buildings most striking feature is the main lounge with its 180 year old cherry bar and the woodstove with the wrap-around couch. There are 6 bedrooms on the upper level with 5 queen beds and 1 double bed. 1 bedroom is on the main level and it has 1 double bed, 1 bunk bed, 1 single bed and 1 trundle bed. There are ensuite bathrooms with showers in four of the bedrooms. There is a industrial style kitchen with gas stove top and range, a fridge, a chest freezer, pots and pans, and all the regular serving and cooking utensils for up to 40 people. We allow up to 40 people at this property. There is an addition fee of $24 per person per night/day over 18 people. There are also 2 small bar fridges, a coffee maker, kettle, microwave, and BBQ. We supply the propane for the BBQ. The Inn also features, a deck, patio, wifi, and satellite TV. There is a out door hot tub, yard/garden area, and a fire pit for your exclusive use at the property. We provide the firewood for the fire pit. All bedding linens, towels and soaps are provided for the beds. We allow well mannered pets at this property. Additional pet fee applies or $24 per pet per night. The rooms are air conditioned. Walking through the front doors of of the Port Albert Inn is commonly described by guests as stepping back in time. The historic Inn was in fact built over 180 years ago in 1842\. It still displays much of its original charm. We are open year-round and located in the tiny lake-side village of Port Albert. Our small family business has owned the Inn for 25 years and we always strive to provide clean, comfortable accommodations at a reasonable price. Over the years we have met thousands of travelers and vacationers from all walks of life from all parts of the globe and for this we are very fortunate. This weekend we camping at Point Farms Provincial Park off of Lake Huron. It's our first time here and the beach is enormous!!! I highly recommend visiting this place as its great for families. White sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. Water is cold but refreshing with only a little bit of seaweed. The shallow end extends quite far out giving you lots of room to have fun without getting in anyone's way. Bugs aren't too bad either. There is no firewood available within the park but a 30 second drive north outside the park marks a small variety store where you can buy all your camping needs such as fire starters, wood, kindling, and so on. The closest grocery store is about a 20 minute drive south towards Goderich called Zehers. There are four bedrooms upstairs with their own en suite bathroom. There are two other rooms upstairs with a shared bathroom all very comfortable. there is another bedroom on the main floor that looks like it was once a large dining room. They can sleep a bunch of kids, but there’s no bathroom. They need to walk upstairs. The kids enjoyed the hot tub. Great outdoor fireplace with firewood supplied. About a 10 minute walk from the beach, we can watch the sun go down. There is a large kitchen with a gas stove and industrial fan hood a dishwasher would be a nice touch. Best part of renting this hole in is the bar area where you can hang out and talk and it’s almost like you are hanging out at a bar for the weekend. The Port Albert Historic Inn was not only one of the most unique venues we have ever rented, but it was very close to the beach, had excellent amenities, and had a lot of space both in the backyard and inside for our group of 15! Two wings, 7 bedrooms, allowed our group and pets space and privacy. The large communal area allowed us to be together in comfort. We had a great time and were very appreciative having our pets. It is quiet with an awesome restaurant and store across the street for supplies. The back yard is large, there is a nice fire pit area and a hot tub. We enjoyed the space, the bedrooms were awesome, the communal bar area was really fun and it was fantastic to have the whole place to ourselves. The owner was great, he lived right next door and allowed us plenty of privacy. On the negative side, the yard is not fenced or private. The place has no air conditioning, although lots of fans, the heat, humidity and air flow did not dissipate. There was no relief inside or out. The front windows don't open, the front door has no screen so you cannot get an air flow. If heat is an issue, you will not be comfortable. The kitchen has no air flow at all, cooking is hot. The gas stove did not work well cooking took a long time. The place was not as clean as it could be, dust on the collectibles, dust under my bed, leftover food on the bbq and the floor left bare feet black. We left our dogs for 1hr and the owner left a message saying we could not leave our dogs unattended, which is unreasonable. We went to beach to swim. We were not allowed to have music outside, also unreasonable. Old coffee machine needs upgrade. ##### Delores M. We ran into a couple of minor issues and Angus (property manager) was right there to sort it out. We recommend this property. It is everything it is meant to be. ##### Garry M. Seven friends coming together after a couple of years forced seperation due to covid. We loved that we each had our own bedroom with the majority of us having a shower/toilet ensuite. The Inn was spacious giving us lots of room to spread out. Amenities were close by. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to use the hot tub or camp fire but we'll try that out another time.
