Wonderful and interesting historic property. Staff were super friendly and helpful. It’s historic so if you like clean an modern move on. But if you like character and uniqueness don’t pass this buy.
The Inn and Mount Michell Cabin was a great getaway for our family! We enjoyed the breakfast every morning around 9 and met some very nice people every morning!
We enjoyed the quail, chickens -esp Bender, the rooster and the two goats on our morning walk back from breakfast! A beautiful place
To get away!
The most charming and elegant gem in the mountains. The cabin felt like a second home, beautifully decorated and it didn't feel like it wasn't ours, it felt like we had to take care of it as though it was our own.
Alex, the Inn Keeper, must be the world expert on the property, which has been there since 1885. He is not just the owner, or the Inn Keeper, he is a steward of the land, and the caretaker of its history and legacy.
Joe, a man of many talents, from maintenance, guess relations, tending to the chickens, to cooking the most mouth watering breakfast you've ever had, is truly one of the best humans I've ever met.
From the stay, the food, the views, and the stories around the campfire. Engadine is a treasure.

The decor was perfect for a bed and breakfast. Enjoyed the breakfast, too!
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful historical home. The staff were friendly with the perfect balance of being accessible without being intrusive. The star of breakfast was a delicious homemade quiche. An assortment of standard breakfast fare was also available.
Booked a weekend getaway. We love the Inn! Its history, its beauty and location are fantastic! We loved our suite too! The Inn keeper was very nice and gave us privacy. Already planning our next visit!
Nice property, staff was nice and attentive when we first arrived, but didn’t see them much during our stay. Would have liked to have had the coffee bar refreshed and more water bottles available. The free alcohol and cigars was a nice added touch.
We stayed in the Smokey Mountain cabin and it was excellent. Very clean and had everything we needed. Beautiful view of the mountains and the stars at night were amazing. Dogs loved it as well! Would definitely recommend.
Loved being in the cabin. It was very quiet and the scenery was beautiful. However, the only thing was, while taking a shower, the water went from hot to cold in the middle.

My husband and I stayed here on Sunday evening and had the whole house to ourselves. There were interesting things to explore both inside the house and on the surrounding property. The owners are doing a masterful job of restoring this historically significant place. Our room was comfortable and breakfast was wonderful. We were given a personal tour of the property and saw all that was being done to make this a venue for special events and getaways. We look forward to returning in the future to see how the newly planted fruit trees are doing and perhaps the restoration of a former vineyard will be underway! This friendly Inn is certainly worth a visit.
From the pictures on the website I thought you were secluded but you are not. You can hear the highway. Also did not feel safe that a motorcyclist came up riding through the property. The rug had dog hair all over it and blanket, sheet, and towels were not cleaned very good, some marks on them. Dishes were not cleaned well. Hair in the drain of the shower and dirt in the jet tub. Also on their website they said wood would be provided, you would have to call for it. I called and the lady told me to go buy it at Dollar General. I was very disappointed that they charged me twice when I paid on Expedia. Never again going through Expedia. Expedia charged more and poor communication with the property. The property also is out of state their management so be aware of that also.
The price for the cabin stay was great. Everything we needed was available. We will be back. Thank you for an awesome mountain experience.

This place is amazing. My wife and I stayed two nights in the Cherokee cabin for our anniversary and we both loved it. Management was so personable and accommodating. Beautiful and well maintained property. Don’t think you can beat it for the price.

It felt I was staying with family. Very welcoming!
Great little cabin! Myself, my husband, 10 year old (he slept on the couch) & puppy stayed. We were the only people staying on the whole property which made it amazing! The kitchen is a little small for trying to cook but we made do. The mattress was a little too springy for me but overall we had a great time! We would recommend this place.

Noisy, by highway, lights don't work in bathroom, check in was 2 hours late
The sheets in one of the bedrooms has pubic hairs in it... making the bed unusable.... daughter has to sleep on futon couch. made us look more closely at everything else and the room could use a good cleaning. cobwebs galore... place smelled fine and looked okay at the beginning. would really like a partial refund as we booked this place because of the extra bed.

Not impressed
Balsam Mountain Cabin was tidy but not very clean. The loft needed dusted and vacuumed. The bathroom could use a good scrubbing as well. Furniture is a little threadbare. For the price per night I was expecting nice amenities.
