1. Hotel Ciria

Hotel Ciria
3.0 star property
Benasque
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (69 reviews)
"The staff was friendly and very helpful, making our stay very comfortable. We loved the mountain views from our room, and the restaurant food was very good. The breakfast was not as high caliber as breakfasts we had at our previous stays in Barcelona and Llafranc (very high on sweets and carbs though if that's your preference!), but it wasn't bad. We loved the location. Would stay there again."

Top Anciles Hotel Reviews

Hotel Vielha Val d'Arán, Affiliated by Meliá

Hotel Vielha Val d'Arán, Affiliated by Meliá

8/10 Good
"WiFi was strong, breakfast was good. The bathroom is designed for very large people and I am small - hard to reach soap, towel rack in front of sink made sink hard to reach. Also though I asked for shower without bathtub, my room had a nice high bathtub in the shower that made it dangerous for me to use the shower. Staff were super helpful and accommodating. Place is very clean. If I were 6 feet tall and young, I’d give 5 stars"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Anciles?
The best area to stay in Anciles is the village centre itself, offering a concentrated experience of this historic Aragonese settlement.

Anciles is a small, traditional mountain village, and its centre is characterised by well-preserved stone houses, narrow cobbled streets, and a quiet, authentic feel. The Parish Church of San Saturnino is a prominent landmark in the heart of the village. The village is surrounded by stunning Pyrenean landscapes, with walking trails easily accessible from the centre.

For couples seeking a tranquil and romantic escape, staying within the village centre is ideal. You'll find a selection of charming rural guesthouses and boutique accommodations, often with beautiful views of the mountains. The slow pace of life and the opportunity for scenic walks directly from your doorstep make it great for unwinding together.

Families looking for a peaceful base from which to explore the region will also appreciate the village centre. The lack of through traffic makes it pleasant for strolls with children, and the proximity to nature means outdoor activities like gentle hikes or picnicking are readily available.
When is the best time to go to Anciles?
The best time to visit Anciles is during the summer months, from June to September, when the weather is warm and sunny, great for outdoor activities.

During this period, the days are long, and the temperatures are comfortable, averaging around 25-30°C. This makes it ideal for exploring the surrounding Pyrenees mountains, hiking along the numerous trails, or enjoying water sports on nearby lakes and rivers.

Couples looking for an active holiday will find July and August particularly appealing. The area buzzes with activity, and many local festivals take place, offering a glimpse into Aragonese culture. You can also enjoy al fresco dining in the evenings.

For those who prefer a slightly quieter experience but still want good weather, June and September are excellent choices. The temperatures are still pleasant, and the landscapes are beautiful, with fewer crowds.
